Topic: Black Dub
Noticed last week that Black Dub had released an album and checked it out because my favorite drummer Brian Blade is in the band. The group's the brainchild of top producer Daniel Lanois (who plays a respectable guitar). Along with Blade and Lanois is the silky Daryl Johnson on bass and Trixie Whitley doing vocals and guitar. Trixie's the daughter of the late Chris Whitley and has some mighty fine pipes - kinda reminds me a little of Beth Hart. The music is an eclectic mix of r&b/rock/psychedelic and doses of jazz and blues thrown in.
