But when he does, does anyone know how he intergrates it through the pedal board and how it's switched? Or is it set and leave? (what is currently in it?)
Joe's rack consists of a Monster Power supply (powers the whole rig) 2 SSL Acoustic Preamps (for the acoustic songs), a pedal shelf containing a TC Chorus, Boss DD3, and Boss REV-5 (always on, routed through the effects loop of the Carol Ann only), a Van Weelden Twinkleator (tube driven effects loop for his Twinkleland/Dumble ODS copy), a TC 2290 that runs through the Twinkleator only for the Van Weelden amp, a Wireless system (can't remember which one), and I think that's about it. So Joe's rack is pretty much always on and always running through his amps. He just adds ''color" via his pedalboard.
In your case Jakey with your particular rig, I'd recommend the RJM Effects Gizmo. The Effects Gizmo will route all of your effects and devices, plus switch or blend your amplifiers. It's controlled by the RJM Mastermind Midi controller and it's phantom powered by the Effects Gizmo (really cool!) The cool thing about the Effects Gizmo is you can assign buffered or non buffered inputs to certain pedals and it also has a nice ground lift to keep the rig quiet. A lot of big boys are using the Effects Gizmos and RG-16 systems nowdays. Check 'em out! Here's mine in action:
