Hi,

maybe this already exist but i couldn´t find.... sorry if is like that.

It´s anywhere i can find a compilation of the different guitar tunings Joe uses on his most popular songs?

Whats the tuning on Joe´s main guitar?

So far (some may need confirmation):

main guitar is in Standard tuning
John Henry - C
Burning Hell - Open E
Walking Blues -Open G
Wild About You -Open D
India/Mountain -Drop D

Only ones I can think of off the top of my head with different tunings are:
John Henry -C .. I think.
Burning Hell -Open E
Walking Blues -Open G
Wild About You -Sounds like Open D, I don't know for sure.
And I think he uses a capo on Bird on a Wire, 2nd fret.
His main guitar is in Standard tuning.

Which songs are you interested in?  He has three books of tabbed music that tell you the tunings.  I have all three so I can look it up for you...

for example what is the tuning on his Just got paid cover? stop?

if his guitar is in standard then I guess my guitars are all bad tuned..i try to jam a little yesterday with some songs and they all sound weird....like the jimi hendrix tuning that is Eb but a little lower....nver got that

Two great songs.....that aren't in any of the tab books.......I do think they are both standard tuning though.  Search for Stop on youtube and you'll get a great lesson from stratpaulguy on how to play it. 

I think just got paid was played in open e by zz but Joe plays it in standard.

Joe plays Just Got Paid in standard tuning.  ZZ Top version is in Open E. -S.

I believe Richmond from Sloe Gin is in open C (low to high CGCGCE)

I had a student want to learn it last week, and the harmony is really easy to take apart, but the exact voicing for the Bb chord is a total nightmare in standard tuning (to the extent that you wouldn't do it while singing) AND you want to have the mice/squeaks that you hear from the position shifts on the recording, which you won't in standard. 

Once in that tuning, it sort of plays itself... always a happy surprise.  smile
