Re: newcastle in october...

Geoff and I will be there, Manchester on the friday; Newcastle Sunday and Glasgow Monday.  Seen 'the man' 24 times in the U.K. now and he is truly amazing live if you have not seen him live before.  You have to get tickets as soon as they are available to get anywhere near the front at a ticket venue and if it is standing be prepared to get in the queue a good two hours before doors open to stand a chance of being near the front.

Rock on and keep the faith!!

Re: newcastle in october...

Got Alter Bridge on the saturday night with The Mrs and Jr, so on me own sunday. Be a great  3rd gig for me,the city hall being where i saw all my early gigs through school years-now 48!-so been sat most areas inside-all seating,tho,-not conducive to boogie-ing! smile I'll be the shaven-headed (re-balding!)one wearing the blue baseball tee off the website with joe's autograph on the front ,hope to get a few beers in The Bodega up the road pre-gig,see anyone there! big_smile

Afraid I was going to go but now can't. My two tickets are up for sale in the market place on these boards - I would prefer them to go to a forum member and am just trying to recover costs without profit. Never been to the City Hall but I believe they are good seats - Row E 12 and 13.

If they don't go soon they will have to go on Ebay

Still going to Bridlington (Row A :-) ) and Manchester.

Re: newcastle in october...

Getting my streets mixed up earlier regarding bars to have pre-gig pint in.The Bodega is on the other side of town ,i think,up the road from The Academy NOT City Hall! tongue Any Geordies out there recommend a good bar close to the gig? May get food in Frankie & Benny's close by,but if not,a good pub to soak up (beer!) the atmos pre-gig'd be good! wink

Hi Idolbone.

Hope you enjoyed Joe in Newcastle and I'm sure you will enjoy WA on 22nd. In the 4 weeks to 6th November I will have been lucky enough to see Joe twice, WA 7 times and Walter Trout twice!! I've just had 5 gigs this week so I'm totally skint...as one involved a 350 mile round trip (i.e. a tank of petrol!!). Good job it is payday on Wednesday.

As you say...they are a friendly crowd on here.

Have fun,

Linda.

Re: newcastle in october...

Hey guys - when Joe was chatting to fans after the show at Manchester, he mentioned that they might have something a bit special lined up for Newcastle - "we got something brewing" he said - and I don't think he was talking Newcastle Brown!

Can't wait for your reviews on this gig to see what it was....................

I'd guess a duet with Sandi since she mentioned she's there with Joe today.

Re: newcastle in october...

Well folks the surprise was......... Paul Cossoff's Gibson was brought along for Joe to have a look at. He was like a kid with a rare new toy. The sound from it was loud and perfect, despite having had a neck repair. Apparently this is the guitar that Paul fell on top of on stage and wrecked. It was rebuilt by a Gibson luthier I think. Heavy guage strings. Anyway Joe plugged it in and had a go! He then used it on the gig and played "Mr Big" in honour of the occasion! Some pics might eventually get onto the website - I hope.
