Topic: The Eagles

So the Lovely missus and I went to see The Eagles last Saturday night at the Hollywood Bowl.

First time at that venue and it is quite amazing.  Getting there and getting out is a pain in the ***, but once inside, music, starry night and songs you knew all the words to.

Don, Glen, Timmothy & Joe are all in their early 60's.  I didn't have high expectations for sound quality.  However, the harmony of those 4 gentlemen absolutely blew me away.  Individually, their voices are starting to falter some, but when they sang together, the harmony and acoustics were simply stunning.

They came on stage about 7:45, played till about 9:15, took about a 20 minute break then played till 11:00.

Be it the natural ampitheater, the $$$$$$ in equipment they used, the 35 years of singing together or some combination of all three, this was simply the highest quality sound I have ever experienced at a live show.  It was 3 hours with 17,000 fans singing the songs we grew up hearing, mixed in with a few new ones from their newest recording.

All things considered, I really enjoyed the event.

Hey Joe - It's close to home and your buddy Mayer is playing there soon.  It would be sooooo cool to see you perform there.

Re: The Eagles

Sounds like a fabulous time to me. Timeless music in a great venue. Of all physical gifts, the voice is the last to go. Great to hear they still can bring it. cool

Re: The Eagles

Hi Rockfarmer,

I wasn't that excited to see the Eagles, my husband wanted to go more than me, BUT I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the show last time they came 'round Philly.  It was GREAT, they still have it.  And how about those guitar faces Joe Walsh makes?  cool

Yum brands.  Publicly traded stock. Owns Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Long John Silvers, A&W Rootbeer, WingStreet and I'm sure a lot of other things world wide. Funny name, huge conglomerate international company.

I agree.  sounds like their board of directors has a sense of humor.

Hey Wildcat fan... How was the concert?

Re: The Eagles

They played here in Pitsburgh PA last night. Not Michael Jackson,Elvis Presley,Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd,Rolling Stones nor any other artist in history has sold as many copies of an album as The Eagles Greatast Hits Vol. 1.
Pretty big shoes to fill there

Tell me about the car i saw parked outside your door ? Tell me what you left me waiting two or three hours for ? Tell me why when the phone rings, baby, your up and across the floor ? Please dont keep me wondering no more.....
