Topic: Help me choose a cab...

OK here's the gist of it all:

On the one hand I play a Metro 50W and I want to get a good cab to have it running. I'll load it with EVM12L's obviously... A 2X12 seems to be a good choice: a 1X12 looks bad on stage because the 50W head is too wide, it sticks out of the cab's edges ( lol  lol  lol ) and with 2 EVMs I can be loud enough for a bloody stadium... A 2X12 is not too heavy and won't break my back. It doesn't take much space on stage (and I play small venues).

On the other hand I've found a guy near my home who builds Vintage Marshall replica cabs and his work is stunning... He is currently selling a slant 4X12 which looks gorgeous and is vintage correct (same stuff as 60's Marshall cabs all over but brand new).

If I buy a 2X12 it's gonna cost me as much as this guy's slant 4X12 and the quality will be inferior, BUT I won't put 4 EV's in there cuz it's too darn expensive and it's too darn heavy (my back just hurts at the mere thought of lugging this beast around...).

So what would you guys do? Still get the 4X12 and put only 2 EVs in? Is it worth it? Do I have to think about my back, let the 4X12 go and get me a 2X12? Will it definitely sound better with the 4X12 even with only two speakers? What would you guys do? I'm lost! HEEEEEELP me!

wheels on the cab and a  hand truck solve all back issues. (or a muscular helper working for babe contact and beers)  big_smile 2 passive cones in the 4X cut the weight.

How about 2: 2X12 cabs?  I usually stand my 1936 cabs up sideways and place my head centered on top.  Then you have the option of running 4x12 or for whatever reason you dont want to lug more equipment, you can just go with a single 2x12.  Thats my advice.  Maybe you could also try greenbacks, or G-12 65's to save some money.  They sound great as well.
