I love his videos tons! They've helped me make decisions...but he is NOT Jack Black. His videos are almost as good as Johnny DeMarco's...

gearmanndude is Eric Whorton. He lives in Louisville KY. He builds the Luther Drive overdrive pedal and is one heck of a player. ...he owns a store, i believe.

I've got one of his pink Luther Drives. Love it!

proguitarshop seem to have better sound samples, but hey...not much comes across fantastic on utoob.

Haha, I love it when he's pulling out all the manuals and stuff from the box and he's like "no, no, no! we don't want all this!" or something to that effect. I also love the video where he gets a new pair of boots

Re: Who else is a Gearmanndude addict?

Well addict seems like the wrong word... I find him a useful resource and I do watch every new review.  I even own a luther drive. So i highly approve of his efforts.  That said, there are other avenues too and I always check a couple of different reviews before pulling the trigger on some new gear.

Re: Who else is a Gearmanndude addict?

I love his video's!  In fact I started watching his video's over ProGuitarShops because he simply goes through the features better to me.  I bought 2 of 3 of his pedals.  The Luther Drive (with the loud mod) and the Time Bomb Boost.  Only issue I have with the TBB is it needs a 9 volt battery adapter so I don't have to use a power source. I never tried his other pedal the Luthar Pedal, its basically the same pedal as the luther drive but he was trying to get more distortion or something like that... Anyways it gets a Fuzz effect when you dime it out that he liked.

His demo's helped me make good choices for what I wanted on my pedal board.  only thing I wish I had done was buy a Trifecta Baker Fuzz pedal.  He said it was his favorite and I thought I would like it.  My buddy bought the pedal and I loved it, but tried to be different so I bought a Way Huge Swollen Pickle....  Lesson learned listen to GMD!

Re: Who else is a Gearmanndude addict?

I have the Luther Drive, and it's great with my Tweed Deluxe I built. Having a tube amp in a dorm room, I can get the cranked 6V6 tone at a not so cranked volume, which is great. It's cheaper than many of the TS808 kind of pedals, and it sounds very good, and is a wonderful overdrive to have in the arsenal.

Please, call me Austin.

That's pretty funny. Haha.

Met with my approval. I DID wonder... Jack Black. He sounds a lot like him. But you guys insist otherwise, so I shall keep myself contained haha  lol
