Topic: BB King Lucille (Epi Model)
Anyone tried one of these? I have been thinking about getting some sort of ES335 type for a while but I am on a strict budget for this purchase. I reckon about £400 mark. Can anyone recommend anything else?

Hi Fuzzblues!
A few weeks back I picked up the Epiphone 335 'dot' Vintage Sunburst model and I'm very pleased with the purchase.
It's a versatile instrument, great sound, good workmanship, good looks. I'm using it on live gigs through a Marshall TSL 100 and Music Man 1x 12 combo and you get some really good tones out of it. I think the price in the UK is under 300 euros, I can definetely recommend it.Happy hunting! Per Andersson
Most of the Epiphone semi-acoustic guitars are pretty good.
I know Josh Homme uses an Epiphone 335 for a lot of songs that are in standard with QOTSA.
Gets quite a good tone.

He has changed the buckers in it though...
Yep I recommend the Epi DOT 335 - I have a '98 MIK and it is a well made guitar. The electronics and wiring are horrible though...as with most Epi's. I put '57 Classics in mine and upgraded the wiring and pots, etc. Makes a world of difference. The Epi Lucille seems like a really nice guitar - a true bargain. Just put real pups in it.
I've had both a Epi Lucille and a Dot and ended up getting rid of both of them fairly quickly. I was disappointed in the build quality and I had problems with the electronics in the Lucille. Not that they sounded bad (they did), but that the neck bucker didn't work that well. For the money, there are better guitars made by other companies, IMHO.
The unveiling of the bonamassa epi has got me putting the lucille on the back burner.
