Topic: Trans Atlantic TA15

Any body tried Mesa Boogie Trans Atlantic?  Heard some demos and it seems like a lotta amp for the money.

Re: Trans Atlantic TA15

You mean to tell me all you guys talking about 5 watt amps haven't even paid any attention to this bad boy?  Promise you the quality on these will be better then a Class 5 marshall.

Re: Trans Atlantic TA15

The price is (we're talking UK here, sadly  roll ) is crazy.

Re: Trans Atlantic TA15

Not sure what it is in the UK but its $900 for a 25 watt amp that has 5 different preamp circuits, and a channel switching option.  It seems like a hell of a lot more amp then anybody else is offering for a couple hundered more.

Re: Trans Atlantic TA15

My buddy has one - he claims it's an amazing amp - I haven't played it yet though but I trust his judgement.

Gits: '03 Gibson Historic R7 Goldtop, '06 Gibson R8 Plaintop, MIJ '62 RI Strat,  and others...
Amps: '99 Marshall 1987x Plexi RI, 1969 Fender Super Reverb

Re: Trans Atlantic TA15

I've had one for a few months and I think it's one of the best amps I've ever owned (I've owned a number of Fender and Marshall amps before). I love the versatility, and it sounds great with all my guitars (LP, Strat, SG). I think some people write off Mesa as a heavy distortion company, but the TA-15 gets great blues tones for me.

They are the equivalent to $1600 over here...crazy.

Re: Trans Atlantic TA15

Buy one on ebay in america and ask the seller to write the value at under $200...  Sounds bad but the guy that bought my les paul was happy.

Re: Trans Atlantic TA15

Played one in a store in Sydney when I was on a business trip.  Sounded amazing.  LOUD, and the variation you get when switching between the 'Pommie' and 'Yankee' channels was really cool.

Would have bought it in a pinch, however, they wanted the equivalent of US$2000 for it...
