Topic: THE MACHINE UNPLUGGED in Wilkes-Barre THIS SATURDAY 10/9

Heads up to any Pink Floyd fans in the Northeastern PA area...... THE MACHINE will be playing a special UNPLUGGED show THIS SATURDAY 10/9 at the RIVER STREET JAZZ CAFE in Wilkes-Barre.  This is a cool little bar with a friendly staff who mix a real nice drink for a real decent price.  Ages 21+ with ID to enter.  Door time is 8:00.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance at https://holdmyticket.com/mini/mini.php?id=14053.  Tickets will also be available at the door, however I would advise arriving before the 8:00 door time as there will probably be a line.  This is a much smaller venue than The Machine typically plays and tickets are limited and may very well sell out.

The Machine's unplugged shows are a more intimate experience and always a special treat.  They not only put a new twist on the Floyd classics, but they delve into the deeper cuts and even Syd Barrett tunes, all of which is just beautiful.  They will also have a guest sax player for this show.  If anybody wants to check out some of their previous acoustic offerings, here are a couple good recordings... just hit play...

The River Street Jazz Cafe's address is 667 N. River St, Plains, PA... that's the outskirts of Wilkes-Barre... it's exit 3 off off Rt 309, which is exit 170B off of I-81.  It's located directly across the street from McDonald's, in the lower level of a little office complex.  There is plenty of free parking available on the premises.  If you need more info, here's their website: http://www.riverstreetjazzcafe.com/schedule

By the way, a local radio station, Rock 107, will also be there that night conducting a drawing for a pair of free tickets & bus ride to see Roger Waters perform The Wall on Nov 8th in Philly.

Hope some of you can make it out!  See you there!  smile

I should probably point out that The Machine is also playing a normal electric show with the whole multimedia light show THIS FRIDAY 10/8 at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center in Reading.  For more info & tickets:

I seriously would suggest coming out for both the electric show and the acoustic show... they are two totally different experiences!  I'll be at both, if anybody wants to meet up.

Re: THE MACHINE UNPLUGGED in Wilkes-Barre THIS SATURDAY 10/9

BUMP, as this unplugged show is TONIGHT... anybody here gonna make it?  I just got back from Reading a few hours ago... awesome show!  It whet my appetite for the unplugged show too... wonder what we have in store song-selection-wise?  Whatever we get, I know it's gonna be sweet!  cool

By the way, this is my taper friend Keith's birthday show... he told River Street what he wanted and he got it (and they got a good price because of my involvement).  Come out early and help us celebrate!  cool

Hey Vik.....I saw Roger Waters in NYC last wednesday...I was blown away by the stage show......quite an impressive and intricate performance......the music was good.....i am not sure some of the stuff was recorded........was all the way in the nose bleeds.....the highlight was the airplane on the cable crashing into the stage......was pretty wild......in summary I'd much rather pay $90 to be 5 feet from Mr. Bonamassa than 200 feet from Mr. Waters........I did score a $15 tee shirt ($40 inside) in the Blarneystone Bar though!!!!!  Hey see ya in Wilkes Barre on 11/17!.........front row loge.......Rudy

Hey Rudy, my taper friend Keith did both the MSG shows, and people are saying his recording from the 6th (your night) is the best of the tour so far.  I don't know if you do bit torrents, but here it is:

He and I are doing both the Nassau Coliseum shows, tomorrow and Wednesday... woo-hoo... will be my first time seeing Roger.  I saw Pink Floyd 3 times, all post-Roger.
