Re: Nice Bass!!! And t-shirt!!
I've seen photos of Joe fishing smallmouth on a river in his home area. He would doubly approve!
Nice one!

If you are referring to "Frozen" Joe Bonamassa, I think all he came close to catching was a cold, but I believe he did have a little frostbite...He looks like a fish out of water and on ice in the freezer...

Yes Rocket, the same. Fishin', not catchin', but it is the getting out there that counts!

Not in that weather! I know because I was freezin' my Bass off that day. NO I wasn't fishin'. Joe looks like he was coerced into that by Dad & Brother-in-Law to be. Better to wait until April 1 every year.

You've got to be kidding!
Actually, it depends. Sometimes catch & release is the only fishing you can do. Some of us actually like to eat fish as much as catch them, pose them for pictures, or stuff and hang on the wall...Sometimes I feel like a release, sometimes not, strangely, the same type of fight put up once and released can garner the keeper motive on another fishing trip. Bullhead season, no way, a big dinner ensues for many people. Note: The Great Spirit and sometimes (often), in New York State, the Department of Environmental Conservation (not a new creation, since 1970) has regulatory control & enforcement authority which includes stocking some lakes, rivers, and streams. Both do a great job...

I never understand people who like to put their kill up on the walls , but thats just me.

Thank goodness this topic floated off to another channel, we were over-fishing the last one! Brack, I have never put a fish on the wall. My brother-law did, but it was a phony one that did some animatronic gyrations and sang Elvis tunes among a school of other songs...I either put 'em back or down the fish hatchery...

Re: Nice Bass!!! And t-shirt!!
I tend to be a catch em and cook em fisherman but never take more than will fill my freezer! I do a 10 day long range trip into Mexican waters for large fish once a year and usually bring back about half a ton in the round. That is not a large number since they average about 30 kilos. Tuna, Yellowtail and Wahoo. I've only one fish on the wall. A 5 pound Golden Grouper which is one of the rarest catches in the world. It is a color variation of the Cabrilla.
