Re: Best DVD's
Besides Joe's two DVD concerts I'd suggest:
Robben Ford And The Blue Line
Walter Trout's Relentless
Delbert McClinton "live from Austin"
Loggins & Messina "Sittin' In Again" (slammin' band and audio)

U2 Go Home live from Slane Castle.... must be the Irish in me.
Both of Joe's........... c'mon, why are we all here in the first place?????
Freebird the movie........ not the reunion half so much though
Lynyrd Skynyrd Lyve the vicious cycle tour........ Nashville on the 4th of July, wish I'd been at that one!!!
SRV live at Montreux....... The 1st time he played there and people were booing him and he responded by rockin' even harder.
Stop Making Sense....... A classic by the Talking Heads w/ a bunch of extra players, Burning Down the House literally!
J Dawg

Gosh, this is gonna make me feel really old. I remember back in the early 70s seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd in Bournemouth as a support band to Golden Earring (anyone remember them?) and they stole the show. Of course they were in black and white back in those days ....
Ah yes Golden Earing, to say i remeber them would'nt really be true as i was only born in '91 but that Radar Love song ain't bad lol and thats about all i know of them.
As far as music DVDs go i don't have many but this is a great thread as i can see quite a few DVDs i wouldn't mind picking up.
-I am a huge AC/DC fan and i ahve their 3 DVD's (Stiff Upper Lip live probably the best)
-Joe's Live at Rockpalast of course (i have been trying to get my hands on ANDY live but it seems to be quite rare)
- Iron Maiden's Rock In Rio (Very good DVD if you like Iron Maiden)
Thats about all i have as far as musc DVDs go but hopefully i'l be able to expand my clection thanks to this thread
Matt
Matt,
If you can't get it in a regular shop anymore I can make you a Cd and/or a DVD copy if you like and send it to you for free of course.
All Bonamassa fans.
Just let me know and give your address.
Andre Wittebroek.
Hey Andre, I'm sure Matt would appreciate that but this form of copying is frowned upon in these forums. Copies of privately taped live gig recordings amongst the forum users is fine but copying commercially available material is not helping Joe or anyone else. Appreciate your intentions but I'm sure someone will come up with a vendor (new or secondhand) to provide an ANDY edition to Matt. I'll check out some web sites and post a solution.
Thanks to everyone who's posting on this thread, I've already got a shopping list - Amazon is getting blitzed tomorrow!
cheers
Geoff
Thanks very much for the offer Andre, its greatly appreciated, but i also agree with Geoff . I have seen the CD of it in the shops but never the DVD. I think the DVD is available from Joe's official website shop. I was trying to find it somewhere on this side of the atlantic but I think i will just order it off the official website as every HMV and Virgin store i ahve gone into it just wasnt there. Including the big HMW and Virgin in London
Thanks again,
Matt
Sorry Matt and Geoff it is absolutely not my intention to damage Joe or anyone with my offer to copy the Cd or the DvD.
I said clearly that if he couldn't get it anymore I would do Matt that favor.
Here in Holland You can't get the DVD in shops or internet anymore as far as I know , a friend of mine Rudi went to a lot of very good shops like Plato, and he still hasn't got one.
That,s why I did this suggestion. I never make copies from cd's and DVD's that are still on the market, I support the artist as much as I can.
Hopefully you understand what i intended!!

I got my CD/DVD of ANDY given to me when the band was packing up after a show. I believe it was Eric who gave it to me. My hubby and I were in absolute "Bonamazement" after seeing the show. Both being guitarists, we commented on how blown away we were by Joe's playing. I had no idea the DVD would be so hard to get your hands on . . .
I remember we didn't even have a DVD player at the time, so we had to go buy one (hey, we were in our early 20's with a house payment and a child--that was a big investment for us). I love Joe's DVD's--something about them, just makes you feel like you are right there at the venue. I was however, put off by the ANDY dancers, as a guitarist, I wanted to see the guitarist!
Fretwork, The Andy dancers are a frequent bone of contention!!! Really BAD!! Story is it was a spontaneous occurrence!!!! Time for you and the hubby to post a duet on youtube!! Every time I have purchased the DVD, (yes,I keep giving them away), it's been here or, i think, Amazon....Cathy

If I locate others I'll post
kind regards
Geoff
Cool! Thanks Geoff . I think that is vdieo (VHS) though which is a shame cause it isn't too dear.
I was just looking on the store linked to from jbonamassa.com and it has the DVD for $20.00 which isn't too bad probably about £11 or so. Would that DVD be able to be played in UK DVD players? I think there is a difference in format between the UK ones and American ones.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi Matt, most modern DVD players play multi region now, just check your handbook, if not you can usually get them chipped for about £30 - 40
good hunting

Make sure that your DVD player is both PAL and NTSC compatible, otherwise it won't play whether it's region free or not. Kind of amazing these days that any music DVD that's not from a major label (i.e. Sony, EMI etc.) would be anything but region and format free, as it limits sales.
Cool, thanks alot for the advice guys, i'l make sure to check that before i purchase the DVD
