Topic: Where should I go, let me know

After viewing all the clubs Joe has played at this year, I need some feedback. I want to see Joe in crowded club, no tables, killer sound, with some night life. I'll jump on a plane, drive, whatever. I got five weeks of vacation, disposable income, and summertime is coming.

Re: Where should I go, let me know

Very good clubs where I've seen Joe were:

- Bluesgarage in  Isernhagen (just outside Hannover) -Germany
- Burg Satzvey near Euskirchen (was there when the DVD Rockpalast was recorded)
- Schwarzer Adler in Rheinberg Germany. Too small now for Joe I guess.
- De Lantaarn Hellendoorn Holland.

- Paradiso in Amsterdam, legendary club best in Europe I guess. That's the one you shouldn't miss if possible.

Re: Where should I go, let me know

would be nice if Joe came to Summerfest again.

its usually the last week in june through the week after july 4th. Its the largest, longest music festival in the WORLD.  In Milwaukee WI.  If you get bored at the festival (i dont see how one could) you could get a tour at the Miller Brewing Company, go to a Brewer game, etc. good downtown scene etc. Tons of huge acts play on multiple stages, all FREE (besides cost of admission [$8-12] i think) except for Marcus Ampitheatre where you'd need tickets.

It'd be worth while checking out if plannign a vacation!

Re: Where should I go, let me know

How about Grand Rapids, Michigan, the show at the Intersection coming up this May?  This will be the 3rd time Joe has played there in the past 10 months.  He played his CD release party there and seemed to have a great time.  The club has great sound, no tables, and capacity is about 1200.  Considering the past 2 shows, I would imagine he will bring in about 800-1000.  The show is on a Sunday, so the nightlife may not be the greatest that night, but if you come a coulpe days early, there's usually some decent nightlife/music going on.

My advice is to start drinking heavily! Wait, that's Bluto's advice for Flounder in the "Animal House" movie....Well Shred, If you can make it to one of the the OKC gigs, I'd recommend that and/or TX for starters, or perhaps a Vegas and/or SoCal show, then the Piercy run whether you got a bike or not, then note that July & August are open! IF Joe plays Turning Stone Resort & Casino in New York State somewhere in mid July to mid August (usually time frame) I would greatly & highly recommend attendance.  Try to use the "and" more than the "or"....See you somehwere.

Re: Where should I go, let me know

Wow, thanks yall! I'm weighing all options. May gigs are a little full for me at this time. Going to Memphis for the Beale St. festival (3 days, 50 bands) oh yeah gotta hit Graceland again to. Two Joe shows, the 20th in so. cal, and the 24th in Reno. Sprinkle in a little local stuff too.
I'm thinking east coast later on, the wifes swamped at work for awhile, gonna let her catch up. She is the main reason I'm alive today, I owe her big time ( and thats no b.s.)

Hey Shred,

I'm always up for a road trip, but you only need to head up the road to Chico and catch Joe the next time he hits the Big Room @ Sierra Nevada Brewing. I've seen a lot of music in a lot of venues, but the Big Room is the most whack room I've seen to date. I don't know if you've ever been to Yoshi's in Oakland, but the Big Room tops them, not to mention all their beers on tap less than 50 ft. from the vats they're brewed in. Under the stars @ Konocti would be sweet too, unfortunately the guy that books up there just isn't paying attention to all of my suggestions.
