GO VIKES!!!! NOT LONG NOW UNTIL THE SAINTS GO MARCHING BACK TO OBSCURITY! WHO DAT??? Last years team dats who.

All props to a great season but I feel people are writing off the Vikings. If we manage to pick up Hoosh, damn son, thats some fireworks coming your way NFC!

I was a redneck American in another life I'm sure, FNL, Whisky (and all alcohol), weed, blues (love me some SKynard by the way), etc etc, u wouldn't have guessed I'm ur average joe Englishman (without the nationalism obviously god save the queen? #### right off)

Re: NFL 2010/11 SEAS0N

good start GRD, I am a certified redneck to some extent in this life, and so is Brett. Any Skynyrd fan is a friend indeed. Well, as Lee Corso says "Not so fast my friend". I am not a Saints fan, however DB is going to be looking at a less than healthy MIN secondary, and Hoosh just doesn't have the speed anymore, definitely not an equal fill in for Sidney. Brett will need to pull out all the stops, play way over his head, and not get injured. Peterson will have to hold on to the ball. Final, NO 31 - MN 17.

GO TEXANS, my adopted team this year

GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Hope it's a great game.

Saints defense will crush that old man back into retirement.

Re: NFL 2010/11 SEAS0N

The NFL is like an after thought on Sundays since I'm usually exhausted from watchin' NCAA games all day on Saturdays. I do hope to see my Cleveland Dawgs improve this year, after all that's where my nickname originated some 20 years ago.

Tres, in Skynyrdese they're called Frynds.

Since I have a resident Viking in house, I'm pulling for the old man. Bet a lot of points are scored. O/U is 49 and I'm feeling like the over is a safe bet.

Go Byrs!!! Somehow that one just doesn't work.
BTW, I think it may be a long football season in Chicago.
In keeping with the current theme of the professional sports world, perhaps I'll auction my cheering & support to the highest bidder.

Jdawg, since #2 son is now at USF, I rooted for Bulls & against Gators Saturday.  However the Phyns beat the Bills yesterday 15-10...some sorryass football.

Packers game was better...oh well.  And Bill, did the Bears win that?

Old vet Vick looked pretty good for a half.

Not really, the refs won it for them.

Re: NFL 2010/11 SEAS0N

That was a terrible call that cost DET the game. I don't think it was enforced in the spirit of the rule, but it was called correctly. Ditka said it best this morning, you learn to live with the rule until they get it changed or at least modified.
How about them Texans? Arian Foster just shredded Indy's defense, unbelievable day from an undrafted ex-Tenn Vol. Glad he managed to stay out of jail all these years. lol

Re: NFL 2010/11 SEAS0N

Same old crap, different season in the Dawg Pound. Still a good excuse to hang and knock back a few Bloodies with my homeys @ the sports bar. After the AM games a few of us beat it to a friends house to focus on the Giants/Pads game. Sadly both Bob & Stew are San Bruno natives and were still fielding calls all day regarding the disaster.

Local interest in Foster. He is from a high school a mile or so from my abode. Monday night and our Chargers see if they can spoil the new Arrowhead opener. The Chiefs always are tough at home.  Our holdout WR has shot himself in the foot. No takers so far for Jackson.  lol I think the owners have drawn a line in the sand on compensation.

I have a feeling that had the call happened the other way around, Packers fans everywhere would be saying what a great call it was.
Jeff, I looked at the standings this morning and it lists the Bears as 1-0...guess they must have won, lol.
On a different note, if you eliminate the 4 turnovers, the Bears had almost 500 yards of offense and dominated the game.

It's possible Bill, that some Packer fans might have thought that, but I would not list myself as one of them. True, I'm a fervent Packer fan, but if that wasn't a touchdown then whatever rule that says it wasn't should be changed.

Actually, come to think of it, I spent 4 hours yesterday afternoon up on my sunroom's roof calking resulting in me missing the first half of the Packer game. I knew it was on, so maybe that would take away my "fervent" status. wink

Oh my aching knees and back are killing me today!

By the way, next time I park near your Bear's mailbox, maybe I'll park my Packer car right on it.  lol  lol  lol  lol

Only kidding buddy!!

Re: NFL 2010/11 SEAS0N

My Chargers once again start as usual. Close but no cigar. It looked like the players' choice of cleats was bad at the end with all the slipping and sliding in the mud. Special teams needs work.

Re: NFL 2010/11 SEAS0N

Three things I saw last night.

1.  Dexter McCluster (KC) is one fast indivudual and I'm so glad he's no longer playing for Alabama.
2.  Glen Dorsey (KC & LSU Alum) is a MAN in the middle on defense
3.  Phillip Rivers (SD) is a cry baby
