How many more weeks are you going to be out of comission?  I hope your arm is healing well man.  I remember busting my arm when I was a kid, NOT FUN.  Your JBLP is very nice BTW.  I bet it sounds killer through your rig!

Re: Guitar God in love affair with Joe B Les Paul!!!!

justin- i've got around 3-4 wks in plaster, then rehab. :-(

my jblp is jaw dropping. i've only played this one, and its seriously the best guit i own.

reeves said it was the best lester he'd ever played and it played better than a 59 he used to use to record with. praise indeed. he likes chunky necks too, so he'd love the jb.

the rig is great, but i shall make some changes soon....smaller, more bijou. also gonna use my big amps for gigs only, and get some smaller ones for home- thinking class 5 and blues junior- thoughts? other alternatives are cornell plexi 7.

Re: Guitar God in love affair with Joe B Les Paul!!!!

i'm really starting to get tetchy with not playing. cheap lap steel might have to be brought to cope.

though i've found out that sandi thom is playing near me soon, so that'll sooth my angered non-playing soul

Check TheGearPage, every once in a while they come up and most of the time TGP prices are better than EBAY prices.  I got my '70 fuzz for $90 (MINT condition) and a '68 Super Reverb for $800 off the Gear Page.  Sum good dealz

Hmm with your tastes I'd probably go with...

- '57 Fender Tweed Champ RI
- Cornell Plexi 7 OR Fargen Mini Plex MKII (though the MKI version I played sounded friggin' great too)

I like the Class 5 and Blues Jr too, that'd be a nice low budget alternative as well.  My idea of "smaller" had been borrowing my dad's JTM45 instead of my Superlead100 while it's in the shop!  Wife, kids, family in the future....I too see a lower wattage rig in the works.  roll

Re: Guitar God in love affair with Joe B Les Paul!!!!

why not find a wife who supports the loudness?  just saying...

Amp: Firebird Musical Amplifiers
Guitars:62 LP SG , 02 FB VII, JB FB I, 76 Electra Omega, 64 Firebird V, 73 LPC, 61 Custom Tele, 59 and 60 Melody Maker

Re: Guitar God in love affair with Joe B Les Paul!!!!

If your lucky you will find a wife who support your guitar habit, but I can tell you, you won't find one who is going to like it if you play to loud!

My wife drove all over AZ with me to find my Les Paul and she now knows a lot about guitars so much when we go to shows she likes to tell me what guitars everyone is playing. Its preaty cool, she also has braved going to Guitar Center to get me things I needed before shows without my assistant.
