Topic: Jet City Amplifiers

So... New brand. Soldano....does anyone on this forum has one ? I heard they were pretty good amps but I also heard that its clean isn't that good, as you are moving the gain up you soon beginning to overdriven tones. Anyone?

I have both the 20 watt and 100 watt heads. The clean isn't a "Fender clean" but good enough for what I play. All I can suggest is that you find a store with a demo unit and plug in. I'm sold on this brand.  As with any valve amp you can change the tone a bit by swapping in different tubes. On the Jet City website they are advertising modded 20 watt heads as well.

Re: Jet City Amplifiers

The other guitar player in my band just bought the 20 watt head, though he had it modified by Andy Dokken (no relation to Don LOL!!!) at RAT amplification. Thought it sounded nice, we had it plugged into a 2x12 with Vintage 30 and G12 H speakers, only thing is not much bass out of it. And that was playing with a Les Paul! Had to have the Bass cranked and the treble around 10 o'clock. Plenty of gain though, no need for pedals.

Seemed good for the money though!!

Guitars: 95 Les Paul Standard, Relic Strat,
Amps: 1973 Marshall JMP 50 head and Vintage Modern Cab. I use no effects other than a Cry Baby on occasions.
