Topic: liquid metal guitars...cool or cheesy?

Hey everyone-

I was just curious as to what everyone thought about Liquid Metal Guitars? I think they are different for sure, but I'm still undecided how I feel about them

the website is... www.liquidmetalguitars.com

they have a few videos, one of Les Robot shredding the blues... actually sounds pretty good.

Thanks,
Logan

Wow, they are really cool looking guitars!  For that price tag they wouldn't be my first choice though.  Definately eye catchers, that's for sure.

Kewl, but indeed a hefty price tag.

I think they look cheesy but hey thats cool sometimes.  Look at Cheap Trick.

I'm gonna go with cool

Re: liquid metal guitars...cool or cheesy?

I ended up going with cool too... It's not that far off from a gigliotti, except for the fact that the whole body is aluminum instead of just the top. I think it'd be cool to see if they could add some color to it over the metal. Just my thoughts. It is a pretty hefty price tag though. Maybe someday I'll save my pennies and give it a try. I think I want a 59 RI Les Paul first though ( or a JB).

Re: liquid metal guitars...cool or cheesy?

I recently got one of the LMG T guitars and they are fantastic.  Great playability and quality.  The chord separation, articulation and sustain are incredible.

Re: liquid metal guitars...cool or cheesy?

I think these sound good, but was amazed at how expensive they are. $3000 for any brand new bolt on guitar is just too much. For the price I'd save up and get a Gigliotti. The details in the Gigliotti are more "hand made" and has more synergy in the wood->metal parts.

These Liquid Metal guitars look like $600 guitars, and sound like $1000 guitars.... that doesn't equal up to $3000.

Re: liquid metal guitars...cool or cheesy?

I don't think they look that cool - too uniform and shiny for my taste.

I much prefer the rusty, distressed look of James Trussart's guitars:

Re: liquid metal guitars...cool or cheesy?

I guess i would place liqid metal guitars third behind Gigliotti and Trussart. cool ideas though!
