Topic: speaker cab for the 2550?

Would that be a suitable cab for the Ceriatone 2550 (50W)?

Are the Celestion G12H30 any good for the Jubilee tone? What speakers would you recommend apart from the EV12s?

I am EXTREMELY happy with Celestion Classic Lead - very clear and transparent.  cool

Yes, I think the G12H30 suits the 2550 very well.
I've used this, as well as G12M (a bit to warm and smooth I think) and a few others.
I like the 12-65 even better though, and that's what I use with my own 2550 together with EV12-L in a 2x12 cab.

How about the V30?

Re: speaker cab for the 2550?

They're okay...work best in an X-config with a couple of 75s...like the Bogner cabs...

...but there are loads that are much better in my opinion. - I think it's been said, but the 65s are excellent in my experience.

Re: speaker cab for the 2550?

I have Vintage 30s and I like them but I played my 2553 through G12H's and wanted to cry how good it sounded, Really liked them and might swap two of the V30's for those.

Re: speaker cab for the 2550?

I have to say

EVM 12L is the way to go (in a openback 2x12 ) there is no fizzy sound in a EVM 12L
because it reproduces the amp sound perfectly and because the 2550 ect is a very saturated amp
they work best as there is no speaker breakup in a EVM 12L.
if you want a 4x12 then green backs will serve well but they are  just not as articulate as the  EVM 12L  tongue
