Topic: The Blues Assembly, Leamington Spa 2010

Thanks to Triggermala for the advance notice of this year’s Blues Assembly gig on Sunday, 7th November at The Assembly Rooms, Leamington Spa. Here’s a run down of the schedule for the day.

DOORS - 3PM

CHERRY LEE MEWIS         3.45 - 4.15

CHANTEL McGREGOR        4.30 - 5.15

NIMMO BROS                  5.30 - 6.30

MATT SCHOFIELD            6.45 - 8.00

MUD MORGANFIELD          8.20 - 9.50

CURFEW - 10PM

Not sure what I think about Mud Morganfield closing the show. Although I haven’t actually seen him play live I think he may regret following Matt Schofield. What do you think Duncan?

Can't claim any credit for this. This gig was announced on here by triggermala. I was commenting on what a great venue the Assembly Rooms is. Probably the best I've been to. A great one for the band and great for the fans as well.

Re: The Blues Assembly, Leamington Spa 2010

Nothing like as tempting as last year's lineup, even if it didn't clash with a rather important show in Amsterdam that night!  wink

But yes, a wonderful venue for sure.

The Nimmo Brothers are ace. In Glasgow the night before.

Looks a good lineup although it has dropped from 7 acts last year to 5 this year. Given I've seen all the acts except Charry Lee Mewis, I don't think I'll be heading down. Should be a good show. Mud will hold his own if he's with the Dirty Aces. I saw them back him and they play heavy amplified blues. They play a few upbeat numbers to warm the crowd up before Mud comes on. Mind you Mud's got one of the best set lists ever and is certainly worth catching, if you don't mind the absence of Muddy's earlier delta songs.
