NPR works at least in Germany and it's great.
I'm just updating my NPR podcasts and the downloads of new NPR stuff will last hours...
Only wanted to prepare my iPod for vacation ... but that will last more than 5 minutes.
And there won't be enough space on my 160 GB baby, so I can't take anything with me on my trip to Greece yikes
I'll have to leave 5 GB jazz stuff at home - jazz makes me nervous somehow.
Hope that's enough for NPR and some audio books.

Re: Odd pairings

Odd Pairings?  I was watching Palladia a month or so ago when an episode of the country music show "Crossroads" came on with Taylor Swift and Def Leopard.  It was hard watching Joe sing Taylors songs.  I didn't make it all the way through the show.  Seemed very odd to me.  There have been some good episodes, but that wasn't one.  I guess they were trying to duplicate what  Robert Plant and Allison Krauss did ( I didn't like that pairing either)

As to Aerosmith/Run DMC.  As I recall Aerosmith had kind of fallen off the face of the earth with the members in and out of rehab when run DMC wanted to record "Walk This Way" as a rap song.  From my recollection, this kind of re-energized interest in Aerosmith and helped them rebound.

Crossroads is a really good show, normally on CMT here. I have seen several, the ZZ Top / Brooks & Dunn + Skynyrd show were both excellent.

would like to see the John Mayer / Brad Paisley since they both play a pretty good geetar.

Re: Odd pairings

love the old thread too George, I wasn't here either. I saw Focus open for the Beach Boys in Tuscaloosa, mind boggling. I also saw Linda Ronstadt open for Neil Young, and that night she was definitely the better act. That's funny, poor Doobies.

Sorry George, didn't think of dredging the catacombs.
Biggest mismatch as far as openers, and it was in a two day festival, was the first time I heard Joe play. Mid day of the 2nd day and he smoked them all. Bonnie Raitt was the headliner and all I could think was she thanked her lucky stars he was on 3 acts sooner. She was great, but..... roll
