Topic: Boss Metal Zone Settings

Can you guys suggest some settings for a Boss Metal Zone to get that Dumble/Zendrive type overdrive? I know you can't make the MT-2 sound exactly the same but I'm sure someone here is up to the challenge.  big_smile

If it helps, I use a Strat with a Vibroverb.

Gain right down - volume right up.

Get it modded...Diezel mod etc

Get a different pedal - they're pretty awful...  hmm

Re: Boss Metal Zone Settings

They're not that bad... any suggestions for setting the pedals EQ?

I have a Boss Metal Zone and use it for metal sounds. It's pretty good at that. I use a LP VOS R9 into a Blackstar Artisan 30H/212 cab.

To get a Dumble type tone I use the Providence Stampede OD SOV-2 pedal. This pedal is often billed as a "Dumble in a Box" See http://www.providence-effects.fr/crbst_18.html It's an amazing pedal.

Right tool for the right job. Good luck.

With my strat I think I've gotten something close with these settings...

Low - 12:00
High - 3:00
Mid - Max
Mid Freq - 12:00
Dist - 9:00

Guitar volume @ 1/2 for mild and increase the guitar volume for more dist. The amp has both the Treb & Bass @ 6.

I think the MT-2 has the same distortion characteristics just alot more of it so you can use the guitar voulme to take the edge off and smotth it out, then mess with the EQ until the tone is right.
