Why don't you try the Way Huge Pork Loin or the TS 808?
or the Carl Martin Hot Drive and Boost?
Joe uses/d all of these so take your amp to a guitar shop and try them out.
I have a Pork Loin and a Bad Monkey both of which I like but I think I will swap out the Bad Monkey for a TS 808 eventually.
I have the Carl Martin the Drive side is very TS9 like but the BOOST is AWSOME! Its so LOUD when you hit it and you can use it independently of the Drive channel so it works like a clean boost.
Look into Jetter gear (www.jettergear.com). The Gain Stage series is very popular and a few were voiced specifically for Fender amps so they add some nice midrange. I love the Gain Stage Red (Dumble tones) and Gain Stage Purple (Plexi tones). You can also get these two combined into a single pedal - the Red Shift. Lastly, the Jetdrive is a dual overdrive, low/med gain pedal from Jetter that sounds amazing too.
For a hard rock sound ala Marshall? I've always liked my TS808 or Fulldrive 2 for the Fenders but that's hardly a hard rock sound... If you dial the amp on the warm side you can probably get away with a Fulltone OCD. Check out the new Fulltone Plimsoul, sounds like it's right up your ally.
That Deluxe Reverb RI is going to sound harsh no matter what you throw in front of it. If your not happy with that amp sell it and buy an old blackface or early silverface 6l6 fender. Every overdrive pedal that I have thrown in front of my vibrolux reverb sounds great, I run my ts808 drive at 8 oclock tone noon and volume full up, and it gives me that nice creamy Badge solo tone/ and great blues breakers tone. I've had nothing but bad experiences with those deluxe reverbs and I found myself doing less playing because I was very frustrated with the harsh fizzy overdive. Get yourself a pro reverb, vibrolux, or a twin reverb run a good tube screamer in front of it and you'll be set, no more frustration just play on. If your looking for tone similar to joe's, you not going to get it with a 6v6 fender.
You'll get some great tones with a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 or a Fuchs Plush Drive. They will both give you some great options.
The Plush is more of a Dumble in a box if thr purists will excuse the expression. The Fulldrive is a far better Tubsscreamer option.
Good luck. Go to guitar center and try a few pedals out into their Deluxe RI.

My recommendations in order of priority :
1 Fulltone OCD
2 Fulltone Fulldrive 2
3 Providence Stampede OD
4 Robert Keeley modded Tubescreamer TS-808
5 Blackstar HT-Dual
My opinion is slightly biased and based on my pedal board at http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp11 … 3X7575.jpg but at least that way I know it does what it promises

Nice....SOV-2 (Stampede) - great pedal, but not great or made for pushing a Fender into heavier rock tones IMHO. I thnik OCD or maybe FT Plimsoul.
