Re: Moving On

I'm so glad to hear that you are controlling the depression Curby. I'll miss your input and considered your posts some I always looked forward to. You have introduced me to many sources of new music  that I enjoy. Peace and continued recovery. I hope to see your handle here again soon and I'm sure many others here do too.

Rock and roll. Maybe further on up the road you'll feel the need to come back.

Re: Moving On

Thanks for the open and honest reasons you expressed for leaving. When you explained your musical tastes I saw myself. When you explained your depression I saw those around me that have suffered the same.

Will miss you and do wish you a speedy recovery and return here whenever you feel the need or like I said before, clue us in on any new discoveries. You take care of yourself till then.

Re: Moving On

Well Curby, I hate to see you go, admittedly for selfish reasons... because you're one of the few people here who ever bother checking out the bands & recordings I post in the Other Artists section (or you're one of the few who ever comment anyway).  Just wanted you to know that I (and I'm sure the bands, if they knew) really appreciate that, and I'm glad I could turn you on to such musicians as Jim Weider, Clarence Spady, Mike Mizwinski and others.  I'm hoping the Other Artists section keeps luring you back to this site... here's a quote from you from just 4 months ago:

Another good shout, Vikki.  In my opinion it's recs like this that bring me to this forum.  ......  This past month I've been searching for great R&B/Blues/Funk and Clarence definitely fills the bill.

I'm not sure what "other things" you're "moving on" to, but I do understand having to cut out distractions if you have some other goal to reach, and I wish you the best.  There are days I think I want to kick my whole computer to the curb and maybe even stop going to shows and just totally refocus my life... but those are my bad days... I think... or maybe those are my moments of clarity, I'm not sure... you see, I suffer from severe depression too... but anyway...... roll

Maybe you don't have to cut out this forum altogether... to quote an old 12-step program slogan (or The Band, take your pick, lol)... just "take what you need and leave the rest"... wink

Another good place to keep updated on new music is JamBase.com... maybe I'll see you over there! wink

Re: Moving On

I had no idea, Scott. Very glad to hear that you've managed to escape the darkness, I can empathize with the feeling of liberation that brings.

As for the forum, you'll do what you think is right irrespective of what others may say, though count me amongst those who will miss your always interesting contributions.

Take care, now.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support.  I guess I was wrong about the lack of interest of my posts.

Say what you mean and mean what you say and don't let others opinions or lack of eat you up. This is an open forum, if you say something inappropriate the powers that be will move you on. Until then speak from the heart amigo.

Sorry to miss this thread Curby. I've been on holiday, best wishes to you to the future. I know you've had a tough time of it and I understand your reasons. We've had our differences, but I think we agree on far more than we disagree on. Take it easy mate. Duncan
