Topic: Parts-built strat photos

Here is a link to a gig I played last weekend at Detroit's Maker Faire. It's a fair for local inventors and it was help at the Henry Ford Museum.  They were looking for musical acts to play their main stage, so I told them I've built strats from parts and have done guitar pickups before, so they gave us a gig.

Nice! I so want to build one, the singer in my band has an old Squire body with all the parts he said I could have for nothin I just can't find a cheap neck to put on it yet!

Re: Parts-built strat photos

I got my neck from Torresengineering dot com
http://torresengineering.com/

it was back when they still sold Fender shaped necks. Mighy Mite has some fairy cheap strat necks that feel ok, they just need some fret finishing and nut work.

NICE !!

Was the neck that color when you bought it or is there a way of making them look old

It came looking brand new. It had a ton of laquer on it and I had a luthier thin it out a little. The rest is just from hard playing. I built the guitar in 2001, so it's been played quite a bit.
