Not surprising-the new Sports Illustrated captured a great photo of Drew and his son for the cover, sweet!!! Of everything I read about the whole New Orleans & the super bowl, this is what really surprised me - the Rev. Jesse Jackson was rooting for the Colts and made it known in such an arrogant way!

He's no Reverend. My black friends cringe when I beat him down...Sharpton, too. He's an embarrassment and they know it. Oh well.
But Drew is purty cool!

Well I see Donovan McNabb just got traded to the Washington Redskins. Feelings Angela? I wish him well for sure.

ESPN reported he nixed the earlier trade with the Raiders and good thing since the Raiders were willing to give up Nhamdi Asomougha in the deal. That didn't make a lick of sense even though Asante Samuel was part of the deal as well.

Hey Rocket,
I'm probably not the best person to ask since I detest the business side of professional sports, but as far as feelings***(&^%$#%^&*@#$%^&**I'm All Shook Up!!!
I feel bad that Donovan is leaving the Eagles like this and to someone in our own division that we'll play twice a year and the news was delivered on Easter, when he has a young family. (that's lame in itself) I wonder if anyone has thought about changing up the Coach Andy Reid? Since Rocket has given me permission to express my feelings, Andy needs to join Charlie Manuel at Nutri System and at least drop 50 pounds like Charlie. He represents a professional sports team...
I feel several years of Donovan's prime years were squandered on the Eagles not having a good wide receiver for him. Then add T.O. to the mix, we make it to the super biowl, loose by 3 points to the Patriots...Sometimes I Still Wonder, were the Patriots cheating at the super bowl???? There is only 1 remaining player from our super bowl run and that's the kicker, David Ackers.
I always felt bad about the Rush Limbaugh comment and how it made Donovan feel, it was churned enough by the media that the only thing left was it was all about being racist...
And my first reaction when I heard this news was to wish Donovan well and good luck, Philly is not an easy sports town if your thin skinned, Donovan took blame for lots of stuff that wasn't just him. When Randall Cunningham left the Eagles, it turned out very well for him, he went to the Vikings and the super bowl and lost when his kicker missed a field goal, who hadn't missed all season. And by coincidence, Donovan and Randall both own/owned homes in my town. (They're cribs are in the high end section).. jdawg, I didn't hear anything about Asante, he just moved into town last August, my daughter's girlfriend babysits his kids.
So for now, I've got my Phillies and they are looking good right now on opening day. And I don't feel the least bit guilty to say, I'm glad those damn Yankees lost on opening day.

I would not worry too much about this trade within the division. McNabb is in the last year of his contract. I doubt that Washington re-signs him. Shannahan needs to find a long term solution to QB. McNabb is, obviousely a short term fix to gain credibility with the owner. Washington needs to recruit a young gun during the upcoming draft and have Donavan mentor him during the 2010 season.
Philly will have a tough season this year, but it was going to come eventually with McNabb's age. Philly has 11 draft picks this year and could trade some of those out for a seasoned QB that has life left to play.
Man I love football. Is it August yet???
I truly believe that had the Bears not traded for Jay Cutler, McNabb would be a Bear right now.
Is it just me or does it seem like Donovan has already played for like 30 years in the NFL?
Angela, our local sportstalk station had some inside info on that proposed deal. What Yahoo reported today was McNabb had felt nothing but disrespect in Philly since the fans booed him the day his name was called on draft day instead of Ricky Williams. Needless to say Philly made the right call that day. Donovan asked to go to the 'Skins and was granted his wish. I also read in the same article that quarterback Sam Bradford out of Oklahoma is visiting Philly this week. The 'Skins current QB Jason Campbell heard the news from a reporter, the team felt it wasn't necassary to tell him anything. There's already 5 teams looking at his availability.

Bill, I think the reason it feels like Donovan has been around forever is 11 years in Philly and a couple bouts of buzz with Rush and then T.O. then a little with Vick being a quarterback & Donovan supporting him. Sports Illustrated did a story on Andy and Donovan the beginning of the year, one of the longest relationships in the NFL without a superbowl and how much longer would it be tolerated by Philadelphia. Donovan was a model citizen and a good role model for kids, I hope he has a good season. Funny though, I hope he's not headed back in the frying pan... I heard that T.O. and Donovan are getting together for some TV show where they'll be playing basketball together.
jdawg-Its hard to believe that its true about Campbell, talk about hearing it through the grapevine.

The Eagles just got worse. The Redskins slightly better. That conference is now between the Giants and Cowboys.
Time to kickstart this old dog back to life. My Chargers are going to disappoint me and break my heart again. Holdouts, primadonnas, we've got them all going here. I predict playoffs and out.....AGAIN!

Yeah, everyone is expecting big things from the Packers this year. But who knows for sure? It's a long, violent season, so losses to key personnel is always critical and can bring a team down fast. Just hope they do a better job at protecting Aaron Rodgers than they did last year. Then, we may in fact have a chance to make it all the way.

I wouldn't bet a dime either way Rick. The most recent word is that he will not be back for his 20th season: http://content.usatoday.com/communities … -in-2010/1
We all know that trusting what Brett says in advance is a mistake. It's no secret that he doesn't like training camp and hasn't really been to one in years. We'll see how it all plays out....the saga continues.
