Topic: Marshall Amps- Tube or Solid
Currently, I have a Fender Superchamp XD. I'm considering a Marshall Amp, but would a solid state Marshall compare to their tube versions?

No.
Totally agree but if you can't afford a Tube amp Marshall, the solid state Marshalls sound much better then the solid state Fenders for distortion.
Save your money for a tube amp. You won't regret waiting.
Save your cash the Tube amp is a totally different beast.
No.

Lets just say you get what you pay for.
Rather have a used tube amp than a new solid state. Keep your eyes on craigslist or the bay, even if it's not a marshall (yuck, have to brush my teeth now) and it's tube, you would be better for it. Some of the epiphone stuff sounds pretty good, maybe the new ibanez tube screamer head? Not too spendy.
Go tubular bro - we're waiting for ya
