Topic: Using your iPhone/iPad as a portable amp...

Hi all, I'm not sure if any of the players on here have seen the new iRig from Amplitube, which allows you to plug your guitar into your iPhone or iPad.  The amplitube software offers emulation of various different amps and effects pedals.  Quite cool, and I spent quite a few hours playing with mine today after my pre-order got here.

I'm not affiliated with the Amplitube guys in any way, nor do I get any kick backs for this - I am simply a guitarist who is enjoying this new 'toy' and just wanted to tell others about it.

Still working on getting a good JB tone out of it...Might have to stack two iPhones on top of each other in series and put some perspex shields in front of them...  big_smile

I think I might use a modelling amp before I used an apple gizmo. I dont know, it would depend on recient alcohol consumption.

Last I knew it was $40 There's a free version and a full-fledged version for $20. Supposedly you  can use a generic cable but I have some concerns.  jgalvan this IS ( or should I say CAN BE) a modeling amplifier with effects application.  Martin you can output to another guitar amp, powered speakers, power amps, mixers, headphones, etc.  So you CAN piss the neighbors off!
Can use any line level signal too.
