Topic: Tremblant Blues Highlights

So Far....

Friday 9th Monster Mike Welch was so so, more traditional than rock now. Anthony Gomes tore it up. Hat off he looks a lot like Richie Kotzen.

Saturday 10th Garrett Mason was awesome (son af famed Canuck Bluesman Dutch Mason) see him if you get the chance. KWS was on fire, best I've seen from him yet. Lacks originality of course but great vocalist Noah Hunt on board, they put on a great show.

Sunday 11th Roy Rogers, awesome as always. Babe Ruth cool to see BUT pretty far removed from blues lol.. Les Dudek was awesome, playing great tunes all night including from his stints in Boz Scaggs, Steve Miller and the Allman Bros. Great guitar player.

Monday 12th Quiet day but homegrown Paul Deslaurier is as always a treat. Deserves to be bigger as good as it gets on vox and blues chops both electric and acoustic. Once again, do not miss if you get the chance to see him.

Matt Schofield was fantastic, young, articulate and classy (sorry bout skipping the bass player!!!!BJJ!!!!). Those SVL guitars are absolute beauties and the Two-Rock/Fender combo KILLS!!!

Coco Montoya? Simply one of the best with the best tone of anyone thus far must find out what PUP's he uses, from afar looked like Fralins or Bardens... Coco you rocked the village......

No worries about the bass, thanks.  Janiva is not really a screecher.  A lot of her stuff is smokey, almost R&B.

Maybe her bunions were acting up.  lol

BJJ, methinks an anti-bass conspiracy may be afoot.... Something must be done!!!!

Re Janiva, smoking hot band but she left me cold, despite the street corner attire..... Others seemed to enjoy, for me the band instrumentals were the highlight!!! Her bassman RAWKED......

Glad you had a great time Mike and enjoyed Matt Schofield, Castro et al. I know of Blackburn too. I reviewed their Brotherhood album for Blues Matters magazine! smile
