hey hip pop will be the correct one try to be the first one to do
Joe Bonamssa and ZZ Top go together, since ZZ Top seems to have reclaimed Just Got Paid for themselves 'gain time bin', I'll bring up another of my long stated oft repeated ZZ Top covers I'd dig from Joe Bonmassa. Certified Blues I used to hope for in trio days, but since Rick Melick is onboard maybe I'd opt for Just Got Back From Baby's, which Rick could come up with something tasty to stuff the insides of it with I'm sure (heck he could for either I bet)...
Rock ON & Keep the Faith Lamp Lit (but douse that light),
Rocket
Would love to see how Joe could do with Johnny Winter's "Mean Town Blues" or Dylan's "Highway 61" (which Johnny Winter did better than anyone else I've ever heard).
Got To Get Better in a Little While - Derek & the Dominos
yes, the live version is too long, but it could be cut down to 7 or 8 minutes. Rick would have a field day, except he would cut back and do only light fill stuff during Joe's 2 solos instead of competing with the guitar as in the Fillmore offering. Rick could have a solo in between Joe's two, and Sandi could add some backing vocals. It's a jam thing that could work if arranged correctly.

I've said it before, but in case it ain't been heard:
Alvin Lee's 'The Bluest Blues'
"What You're Doing" -Rush
Trust me on this...
good one wharris, I can hear Joe doing that one in my head and it would work.
how about Bring It On Home (ZepII), with or without the harmonica. Bogie would also love attacking this. I'm pretty sure Joe could work out the vocals.
Tres
Here's one that is definately up joe's street, I could definately see him performing this either acoustically or with his band:
The song I think Joe could do a great cover of is Steve Lukather's "Tears of my Own Shame" from his 1998 solo album "Luke".
It's a very bluesy-rock song with great guitar and vocals and I think Joe could do more than justice to this song. I think Joe could really make a huge hit out of it.
Left field one-
Stay by Bowie off Station to Station.
Masterful playing by Slick on the original. I'm sure Carmine will know the song hahaha....

Ok with you on this .. live,, Bowie,,, Slick on guitar this is what started me !!!! (dont forget Ronson)
But Joe is way better imo...............

MusicFan63: Good call! That whole album just flat-out kills....I happened on to it around the same time as my marriage disintegrated and could really relate to many of the songs, specially "I Hate Everything About You" (not the Ugly Kid Joe song). Steve's guitar playing and tone is amazing and he lays his emotions bare on this CD.
I highly recommend this CD for those of you who haven't heard it. It's a bit dark but it's real.

I bought a pair of Pixie boots after seeing Slick on the serious moonlight tour. Not the best player, but an old school axe hero?- YES!
I would like to hear Mountain Time, but then the studioversion.

That is not a cover, his own song of course, but an interesting thought. I think it was been played that way before , but not a long-lived deal. Seems like I saw it that way once only. Been the way it is for many years now.
Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocket
I just heard an old song by Bread, the lyrics are great & I would love to hear Joe's take on it. The song is called Guitar Man.
Jimi did it. Stevie did it. Many others have done it. Joe should do it.
Voodoo Child (Slight Return).
Just yesterday, I heard SRV's tribute to Jimi doing this song and my mind immediately went to Joe. It would be beyond amazing to see Joe give tribute to these two guitar masters with his own rendition.
