Re: Just Got Paid.

i was at the show yesterday and in have to say that Billy G was just "WOOOOWWW oh la vache". i saw them 2 years ago and it was not that good but yesterday the sound was awsome. and yes "Just got paid" was just perfect

Your show was a bit too short but your sound "oh my god"....
the first idea that came to my mind was "ok i have to sell my Les paul R8 because it would never sound like that in my hands" and then it was "ok now go and work and one day maybe you will"

i may not be clear but if you have already seen Joe and zztop at the same show then you know how i feel

best regards

Joe, I'd really like to see you with the Lectraslide again doing JGP and The River.  You're a tremendous slide player and the tone you get from the Chandler is massive - nothing like it.

Thanks for droppin' in to hang with us.

I personally dug the flavor of a "slide-less" Just Got Paid.

Re: Just Got Paid.

To be honest Joe I prefer your version of Just Got Paid .

You seem to make it your own , its not even like Just Got Paid anymore its just that good.

You should just play it in standard A 440

Re: Just Got Paid.

Man!  This strikes a note with me!

I remember in my mid teens when JGP came out and have been trying ever since to figure out how to nail the main lick.  I knew it was in open E tuning but my ears where failing to hear that last E before the G pulloff to the open low E so it would throw the picking sequence off, not to mention the timing.  I had no clue what I was doing wrong.  That is until I saw this vid a few weeks ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A8rwQGGlBs.   I've pulled some wicked stuff off of records over the years but a single note kept me from playing my favorite song of all time on stage.

It took me 2 minutes to nail it.  Sigh....

As far as your version Joe "ride it like you stole it baby".
