Topic: Just brought a polytune

and i love it.  big_smile

i've been a boss tu-2 owner for about 8 of the 11 years i've been playing. whilst it was still going strong, i wanted something a bit different. as soon as i saw the pro guitar shop demo on youtube, i needed the polytune.

it's a doddle to tune up your guitar. just strum away and tells you whats out. though when i first tune, i still use the needle mode. because it sense between one note and several it auto switches between needle and poly mode. i'm never leaving home without it now.

Re: Just brought a polytune

I've got the free Polytune app on my I phone, it works great, love it! cool  cool

Just turn it on, lay the iphone down next to the amp and strum all strings, shows which are sharp or flat and progresses up and down smoothly as you tune the guitar, really neat.

Have Fun and laugh like it's your first time! You never know you might get to like it! big_smile

Re: Just brought a polytune

I started with the Polytune on my iphone and loved it so much I bought the pedal to put on my pedal board. Great product.

Re: Just brought a polytune

A pretty good price too...If I didn't have my S.R Strobe...I'd get it.

Re: Just brought a polytune

How does it compare to the TurboTuner (other than the multi-string thing)?

Re: Just brought a polytune

I would say each to his own...

I like strobe tuners more, I like the smooth swirling LED effect of the TT. I felt like I had no need for the Poly...my LP stays in tune nicely.
I was going to plump with the Peterson, but it was a fair bit more, plus I did not feel like it would withstand my nuclear foot down upon it.

The accuracy is supreme (noticeable over a TU2 when it comes to intonation)...and there is very little to go over between this and the Peterson.

Then again, you have the TU3 now...and it seems many people are still happy with the TU2 - kudos to the TU2, that thing held up through world wars...and ever Motorhead - tough.

You must have a browse through them all...to suit the individual person - accuracy, toughness, features, looks, budget...the rest.

It's all good - BUT...the most essential pedal on the board whatever the make!
