Re: Who is Your Favorite band?

LED ZEPPELIN!!!  Loved them when I was a teenager, lost my way for a few years living life and raising a family and have  come back into the light again.  Will always love them but they will never make any new music and now I have found Joe, whose music is becoming my new love.
SHHHHHH! Don't tell that to my friends at the LZ forum.

Re: Who is Your Favorite band?

There is a definate common denominator throughout this thread. Almost without exception it is the first one or two bands that we listen to as kids/teenagers that stay with us throughout our life. As kids, we look forward to the band's new album or upcoming tour. As we grow older, we look back with that faraway look in our eyes at albums and tours we bought or went to. Our love of these bands never diminishes. Many of the posters in here have similar tastes in music. That is no coincidence. The musical quality shines brightly. No-one here has mentioned the likes of Oasis, or Blur, Coldplay or Stereophonics(scrapin' the barrel, I know). Good enough bands, but not innovators. They don't make you feel special when you listen to them.
For me growing up, I had access to everything from The Beatles to Classical and Jazz. The first bands I got into in a big way-and still love to this day, were-
    1: Queen.
    2: Pink Floyd.
    3: The Rolling Stones.
    4: The Who
    5: The Beatles.
    6: Jimi Hendrix.
In more recent years, I have discovered people like Jeff Beck, Walter Trout, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, SRV, Santana. Of course, very recently, I discovered the genius that is Joe Bonamassa. Through this forum, I have now heard of(and heard) the likes of Kelly Richie, Derek Trucks, Chantel McGregor and Susan Tedeschi.
Great music is out there to be discovered. Long live those who find it and share their love.

I like Skid Row.
I don't like Thin Lizzy that much.
I like Colosseum II.
The Gary Moore Band has an interesting album.
Scars... mmm i love some songs.. it's a strange album because there is a huge SRV and Hendrix influence in his playing.

My favourite band is BBM.!!!

Re: Who is Your Favorite band?

Really, i'm not a thin lizzy fan.

Re: Who is Your Favorite band?

Right now? - The Black Keys have it. New yet old school, powerful but melodic, bluesy and appealing. I think they will go a long way. Will they be so in six months? Probably not, but that's the beauty of music, we can change direction, like or dislike as the mood takes. Same goes for albums, they are all different (thank the lord)

All-time Favorite: Boston

Sorry, still haven't found any albums that surpass their first two. Although, I'll willingly acknowledge they haven't done much since, and Tom Scholz can be a world-class jerk. That said, "Peace of Mind" is my all-time favorite song.

Honorable mention: Kansas, Rush, Triumph, Styx. Yeah, I was a big arena rock fan back in the day.

Current bands: Dream Theater, Queensryche, Evanescence, Shinedown (their recent album "Sound of Madness" is excellent!)

Of course, this leaves out individual artists, and at the top of that list is... Joe.

Disclaimer Note: Don speaking here, not Jocelyn!

Re: Who is Your Favorite band?

Boston produced an all time greatest debut Album .... Spawned many bands into action after that!  smile
