Topic: It Must Be Earthquake Season in SoCal

5.4 magnitude quake about 50 miles due east of my house this afternoon.

The house and pool shook like Tina Turner.

There's been more activity between March and now than I've felt in the past 11 years living here.

Me not likeing this very much.

sad

Re: It Must Be Earthquake Season in SoCal

You better be Shreddy. Checked the map and those suckers are marching right up the faultline. Now the activity has worked into the San Jacinto fault. San Andreas is just a bit east so stand by..... The ole homestead's stucco is so full of cracks it looks like a spider web.

Do you think the 'Big One' ie; where So Cal slides into the bay...... is  a real possibility ??

Actually Brack, popular theory holds that when the two land masses separate, Southern California will continue floating and the rest of the continent will sink.  lol We're overdue for a big one on the famous San Andreas fault. There's a ripper due somewhere between Mexico and San Francisco. That fault has historically had a big one over 7.0 every hundred years. Its been over 120,  yikes

Re: It Must Be Earthquake Season in SoCal

"Standin' on shaky ground", Uh oh, Carol King will be in town Mon. night no doubt singin', "I feel the earth move under my feet". Heck we're gonna be in AT&T Park Sat. night listening to Sir Paul probably singin' Twist & Shout......GEEZ, I hope not literally. It's Me is right though, it's always earthquake season in Cali., you just have to be prepared to deal with it.

Feel da funk, here's the REAL Shaky Ground by Delbert himself.....accept no substitutes.

It just clicked listening to that. I hadn't been able to put my finger on who it was that Tommy Castro's vocals reminded me of......Delbert McClinton!!!

Re: It Must Be Earthquake Season in SoCal

My favorite song on the subject has got to be "San Andreas Fault" by Natalie Merchant, from the Tigerlily CD.  (I actually love that entire CD... her voice and songwriting just moves me.)  Somebody put some appropriate video with the studio version of the song, and if you drop down the description panel, you'll find the lyrics... enjoy...
