Hmmm.  I have never heard anyone in 50 years do that song justice.  Killing Floor is another one.  Maybe Joe could with this band.

hmmmm

Yeah, I haven't heard a *good* cover of killing floor as far as I can think. I respect Jimi's, but it just was too heavy and far from the original. Lemon song was based on it, by zeppelin, right? I didn't think that was that great either hmm Definitely a killing floor cover, joe! I just heard a local band cover Born Under a Bad Sign, and it actually sounded really good smile I'd love to hear Joe do that, too!

I would love to hear Joe take a shot at any of these songs.

I agree with the point about Killing Floor, there is noone that has done a version as good as the original, that Sumlin/Guy tone is superb, Hendrix and other others sped it up to much which lost its impact, as for Electric Flag, that version is dire. Can Joe raise the bar? smile

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

Based on my love for the 'new' version of IHWN, I think I'd like to hear the guys do 'House of the Rising Sun', dunno if it's been done by them before for a one-off, or if this has already been suggested... But I reckon that'd sound pretty sweet  cool

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

Well, I had put it out here before a couple times, but since Joe already DID cover Goin' Down at the Crosroads Guitar Festival, now that I know he has it in him, I'd like to see 'n hear it by his band......or Black Country Communion!
