So, here we are again, Cathy and Rick. 
I'm in a hurry to get out the door, so all else will have to wait till tonight. I'm still livid about what's happened here and probably need to 'cool off' outside, in the heat.
Great start with the time trial. That was a tremendous ride by Cancellara and Lance looks strong again. All the usual suspects are lining up for the long ride to Paris. I hope you had a great vantage point George. The crowds looked thick around the last few km.

Ok, ok, I'm exaggerating to make a point....anyone who posts anything of any depth or content from now on needs to save the post on their HD, 'cos you never know any more......
I never saw anyone famous. I stood near the finish line when the first riders came in, which was before live tv pictures were available. They whizz past you at an amazing speed! I haven't checked my pics yet, but will post anything worthwhile, mainly general atmosphere shots, to flickr tomorrow.
Lance's visit to a local cancer unit made the national news. Gazillions of yellow Livestrong wristbands.
The rain that fell during the afternoon finally broke the oppressiveness of yesterday's heat.....stood at the bend leading up to the red bridge (Willemsbrug) later on, caught Germany's last two goals in a bar nearby, where everyone was as gobsmacked as my friend and I were by the final result. Went back to his place where we watched the last riders to go on tv - Lance rode a great race, Cancellara winning was no surprise to anyone. Tyler Farrar and Levi both in the top 10, a good day for US riders.
Stayed for the Spain game - first time since 1930 that both teams miss a penalty - they'll have to play a lot better to have any chance of beating Germany.
Talked with an American couple from Spokane in the train on the way home, explained my red Joe shirt and gave them one of my Joe cards with the site address. A street teamer is always prepared! 
Every year it seems that a dog gets loose and runs into the peleton. First day and there we go. I hope no rider was eliminated by injury from that huge pileup.

Finally the Alps and now we see if Armstrong still has what it takes. He must start attacking the leaders now or it is done. Contador looks to be in a great position to retain the advantage.

I'm really excited about this years race. Four American teams!! I hope Lance wins a stage. I don't need him to win the race, but, I would like him to beat Contador. I'll be watching for Andy Schleck to do well in the mountains. Sunday will thin the herd for sure. I LOVE this race! Cathy
It all comes to an end this weekend, but what a great tour! Seeing it in HD was an added bonus. I can't say I'm happy Contador will probably win over Andy Schleck. I'm also sad Lance hasn't won a stage. But his ride thru the Pyreness made me tear up. He sprinted away right after the Livestrong messages on the road. He gave it a good shot and finished in an elite group. Take that doubters! Snap! One more shot for the sprinters tomorrow. Will it be Mark Cavendish once again? Will Contador win the TT on Sat? Will all American coverage of cycling disappear, once again??? Stay tuned O-O> O-O> O-O> O-O> O-O>
