Topic: J Dawg On The BONE

Just got a suprise call from the noontime DJ Steven Seaweed from KSAN 107.7 "The Bone" in San Francisco to tell me I've been selected to be on Look Mom I'm On The Bone. Every Fri. a listener gets to join Steven from noon to 1pm and spin their favorite tunes. One bummer already is we have to play from their library and SILT isn't there, but where there's a will there's a way. Hopefully this can be rectified by the time I get on in a few weeks, gotta work this in around my work schedule. I'm having an awesome run of luck with SF radio stations. Yesterday I was notified by E-mail from KFOG, the sister station to KSAN that does play Joe, that I was selected to come to an in studio show with Robert Randolph & the Family Band on 6/15, now if I could just hit the lottery. I'll update this when the date is confirmed and anybody that wants can stream it on the net. Now I can scratch being a DJ off my bucket list!!!

Congrats on the win! If work doesn't get in the way, I'll stream it and listen in...are you taking requests? Lol, wouldn't THAT be a can of worms!

I wish, but I had to submit a list of 15 songs, one of which was So It's Like That, but the Weedman told it's not available. Hopefully they might have something by Joe to substitute. Their format is more on the metal edge of classic rock. Hell, I lost the list I submitted and don't remember half of what I picked, but the DJ said it was a sweet line up. You only end up playing about half of your list so we'll see how it goes.

Re: J Dawg On The BONE

Congrats JDawg, that sounds like some real fun and maybe some work. I assume you will have to talk a little. You WILL have some Skynyrd included somewhere, right? good luck, and oh you will enjoy RR & band.

J Dawg, you're a natural. That was a great lineup of classic hits you picked. I posted the show to FB and a few picked it up that missed the forum post. Good fun.

Re: J Dawg On The BONE

Thanks Bonabuds, I will admit it took about 10 minutes to relax and enjoy the ride. Steven dug up about 5 songs by JB of which I Don't Believe fit their format which attracts their listeners and I wanted to hit the nerve of those tuned in with Joe's talent. Here's the playlist for those who missed parts or all of my 60 minutes of fame.

Everything Is Broken.....Kenny Wayne Sheperd
Have A Drink On Me.....AC/DC
One Way Out.....The Allman Bros.    Dedicated that to Gregg with a get well
I Don't Believe.....Joe
Pride(In The Name Of Love).....U2
Rock The Nation.....Montrose
It's Only Love.....ZZ Top
Brown Sugar.....The Stones
Communication Breakdown.....Led Zep
Sweet Home Alabama.....Lynyrd Skynyrd

Had to close with the redneck national anthem for the holiday weekend.

Thanks Tres, Steven had Sweet Home, my favorite song, listed first, but when I asked to close with it he oblidged, but had to change the entire Timeline contest from 1974 to 1992 as Ask Me No Questions was the song from '74 he chose to go with the questions and didn't want 2 Skynyrd tunes back to back. He flip-flopped everything in the space of about 90 seconds, that's the pace things move at on air in studio without a complaint either.

Here's my "mug shot" Steven put up on his Facebook page and will later turn up on the Hey Mom page on the Bone website.

Unfortunately the angle cut off the Dunlop logo on my cap. I was trying to plug them as well as Joe.
