Topic: Thanks to Joe for an unforgettable concert

I don`t know what to say other than this was the best concert i have ever been at and i have been at some smile. Just one highlight after the other. Fantastic guitar playing, wonderful music a singing performance second to none, a top notch band- a perfect concert. Thanks a lot for that Joe. The memories from this concert will last for the rest of my days. Convinced my neighbor to follow me and she was thrilled too after the concert.
Other than that Joe used as far as i could see a Marshall JVM head + i think a JCM 800 head- but he just played in the green modus- with other words he didn`t use the heads OD channels but pedals. Loved the tone form that setup. I am really wondering if his main rig gives even a better sound? But last but not least that proved again that the tone is in the fingers.
Does anybody know what pedals Joe uses?

The essentials:

Wah - Vox or Crybabys are great for the price.  Also check out the Budda, Fulltone, or RMC wahs for the boutique

Ibanez TS808 or a good tubescreamer type pedal (Fulldrive 2 LOVE IT for the JB tone)

Reverb - Boss RV5 or any boutique spring style reverb that tickles your fancy.

Chorus - TC SCF, Carl Martin XII, Ibanez CS9, Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus, etc etc

Delay - Joe uses his trusty Boss DD-3.  There are litterally hundreds of great sounding delays now


Bonus pedals that have circulated through his rig over the years:

Leslie - Korg G4 or Boss RT20

Phaser - this is a new one for Joe.  The MXR ones are good and Joe briefly used a Whirlwind Phase 45

Univibe - Prescription Electronics Vibe Unit, Fulltone MDV, Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe, KR Mega Vibe

Fuzz - Okay Joe has had a fuzz in his rig for a while but when I think of the "JB" tone fuzz does not come to mind.  I like the newer Hendrix RI fuzzes from Dunlop.  Also I think Fulltone makes a great sounding muscial fuzz.  Ben did a clip of his MKII Tonebender fuzz that was VERY impressive sounding.


So depending on how many pedals you want on the floor and what era "Joe" you are most into, there are a lot of choices.  The "essentials" pretty much get me close to his current tone through just about any Marshall style amplifier.

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

Thanks a lot Paul. By the way i could be wrong maybe he used a TSL and not a JVM.
