Topic: Any Fans of "LOST"

The wife got me wrapped up in this show when it first came on and gotta say, I'm hooked.
Anyone else?

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Re: Any Fans of "LOST"

Jeff,
My older daughter (24) has been a fan since the second year.  The last thing I needed was another TV show to get hooked on. Well, she convinced my younger daughter (21) to watch the first season, and I made the mistake of watching the pilot episode with her. That was two weeks ago...I am now hooked and only 1 disc shy of completing season two. Great show. I understand that season 3 is due out on dvd within a couple of weeks.

Re: Any Fans of "LOST"

Whats up Jeff,

I had to bring Deb in here to show her your post, she smiled. She has it bad! A month back she brought home the first season. You want to talk about a marathon of TV itis, anyways I got caught up in a couple of hours of it. I never finished it like she did. I dont even exist when the show is on, if she misses a episode, she will get up a 5 in the morning to watch it on "MY" computer. How dare her, no really she just loves the show. It tried to catch up on it, and I'm like " who the heck are those people?" guess it's to late for shred. You guys enjoy, I know someone is always getting smoked on the show, I know because she tells me. She is like, I just cant believe he or she just died, I look at her and nod like I really know! It's important that I listen to her, I dont need another shiner. (LOL)

Re: Any Fans of "LOST"

It's addicting thats for sure. And I know what you mean about watching it on abc.com. Been there done that.  My computer has a tv card and I can TIVO shows then burn them to dvd. So now we have every episode from last season.  Wifey wants to watch them before the next season starts to get caught up.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world

Re: Any Fans of "LOST"

"Lost" is a fantastic show.  I really didn't know what to expect when it came out.  But it grabbed a hold of me when the unexplainable happened on the island.  I love how each show builds upon the other.   The writing is so in-depth and the character development is thorough and complex. It really makes the show compelling and captivating.  Two episodes that stood out had to do with the "flashbacks" into the characters lives before they were stranded on the island.  One involved Jin-Soo and the other involved Mr. Eko and his brother Yemi.  There are so many twists and turns and curveballs thrown that you never know what is going to happen next.  But you know it's going to be something great. Even better than before.

Digging up an oldie here!  Where are our LOST fans? cool

Just a reminder that LOST starts back up TONIGHT!  Changed nights from Wed to Tues.  There's a recap show at 8:00, then the 2-hour season premier from 9:00-11:00.  Woo-hoo... can hardly wait! tongue

I'm rather "Lost" myself and have never seen even one episode.

Well Big Jeff, you sure lost two days out of your life that you don't remember. How odd to not be able to remember a 24 hour period, hey? Almost as if you were not on this planet. I lost a little time when I had my cervical surgery, but never anything like you had. Of course, I'm assuming we aren't talking about the late '60's and 70's that is. I have Big Gaps in memory from that time period.  wink

Re: Any Fans of "LOST"

A topic from before my time here!

My wife and I got hooked during the first season and followed it faithfully together until she lost interest (no pun intended) in everything in the latter half of 06 (due to the big C eating at her brain).

Since then, like many thousands of others abroad, I've been downloading the episodes shown in the US on Wednesdays sometime late on Thursdays, and then either watching right away or, if I could force myself, saving up a few episodes for a mega-hit! big_smile

This final year is different, because Dutch tv is for the first time showing the new episodes with only a three day delay instead of the previously usual one year delay, so I'll be watching AND tivoing on Friday night - but before I do, I'll re-watch the last episode of s5 just to refresh the memory. wink

edit - so please, fellow addicts - don't post spoilers, at least not without a clear disclaimer.

Re: Any Fans of "LOST"

George, this is probably a stupid question, but what about the ABC website?  Are you not able to watch it the next day on there, like we can here?  There they also have LOST Untangled, which is a 5-minute recap of the episode acted out with action figures and paper cut-outs and props and stuff... usually worth a good laugh.

For Roy and anybody else who hasn't experienced LOST, all you need to do is sit down and watch the first episode without any distractions, and you'll be hooked... it's so well-made, such good characters with interesting storylines, and then of course there's the main mystery of the island... it's just a GOOD show! smile

Dunno Vik, never tried the ABC site. I've alway downloaded the shows and then watched at my leisure.

I've just finished re-watching s5e16/17, right up to everything going white - I'm ready for tomorrow. cool

Incidentally, I just checked for a torrent for s6/e01/02 - top of the list was one with just under 10k seeders and 5k leechers! tongue

Just an alert/reminder for our LOST fans here... LOST is on from 7:00-11:30 TONIGHT... yes Sunday... at 7:00 there's a 2-hour retrospective, then at 9:00 it's the 2 1/2-hour series finale... making the news a half hour late, which is pretty unusual... but then that's the power of LOST for ya, lol...  tongue  wink

At least it only took me 1hr 43m to get through, and not the 2 1/2 hours it took the rest of y'all.

Sorry, the entire season 6 has been a disappointing, unsatisfactory, often badly acted and written splodge, culminating in the, pardon my French, abortion of a 'grand finale'. They're apparently all dead. Or they're not. At least not all of them, only some, depending.....

I just loved that whole plane subplot, the one that had been lying there rusting away for who knows how long after a miraculous crash landing, where they fix a nose-wheel with gaffer tape, start the engines just like that, then reverse out of the jungle, swivel it around, and take off from the runway that has suddenly appeared from nowhere!  roll   mad   sad

Never mind the 'light' in the grotto....I have to stop, sorry. I'm just really glad it's finally all over. I don't even care about all the unanswered stuff or all the other stuff that makes no sense. Six years of my life.....  sad

best line of the entire series..."I don't believe in a lot a things but I do believe in duct tape." roll

Actually I did enjoy that last episode, - but you still can't beat Twin Peaks.

Re: Any Fans of "LOST"

I am glad that it over. By the time each new season rolled around, I had pretty mush forgot about it and then get pulled into another direction and have to wait another 10 months.

I liked the show, but 4 a.m. comes to early for me, so I won’t miss Lost.
