Topic: Videos from Omaha - Joe's Birthday

We shot a few videos in Omaha and I will post them here as I upload them to YouTube (I'm new to this whole thing). First one is "Django/Mountain Time". Quick story behind it is this; I shot "Django" and soon after Joe started "Mountain Time" I handed the camera to Renee who shot the rest. The reason for that I'll explain later perhaps (and no, I didn't have to run to the men's room). Anyway, here it is:

"Last Kiss":

This one's for Patty, captured by Renee, "Bird On A Wire":

Also captured by Renee, "If Heartaches Were Nickels":

"Three Times A Fool" (sorry for the rather abrupt ending):

Renee shot this one, "Sloe Gin":

Renee also shot "Just Got Paid" which is split into two parts:

Thanks Lee!  It's as beautiful reliving as it was witnessing! Beautiful Joe, Beautiful.......
That camera is great Lee!  I knew when I was watching Renee use it that the picture was really clear.

I don't believe so Geoff.  I can't tell you how windy and chilly it was in the alley behind the venue and Joe had many to talk with, etc....then into the warm, comfy confines of the "BonaWho?" bus our great leader went! Got to keep the Boss-Man healthy   wink

I'm behind the 8 ball right now, great reading comments, I'm sure I'll enjoy, but have to watch tomorrow! I can barely wait, but now I can barely keep my eyes open...Patty, Joe as Boss-Man? Better keep it as Boss.  Boss-Man conjures negative images of "Don't Let the Boss Man Get You Down".  That ain't Joe.  He's Joe Boss. Mine too!  lol

Thanks Rick! A lot of people have asked this question. It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7.

Re: Videos from Omaha - Joe's Birthday

I finally got all the song video uploaded so the links are in the first post of this thread.

Thanks everyone for the positive responses! It's funny because I'm not really as big a YouTube fan as a lot of people here  so it's kind of ironic that we would suddenly have our own channel, etc. I don't even know what video of the week means!

The reason why I shot "Django" and Renee shot the rest of "Mountain Time" was this. I was having problems with my contact lenses that night and my left contact had slid off the center of my left eye and got stuck under my eyelid a couple songs previous. I'm extremely farsighted (basically blind without my lenses) and very much left eye dominant so lets just say things were a bit blurry. I hadn't planned on taking video of those songs, but when Joe walked over and stood at the edge of the stage right in front of us I just instinctively grabbed the camera and started shooting, trying not to do anything fancy, but just keeping this blurry figure somewhat in the middle of the LCD screen. When Joe walked away I simply handed the camera to Renee and she took it from there.

Re: Videos from Omaha - Joe's Birthday

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the explanation. I can see exactly the moment you passed the camera to Renee.  lol

As many others have said, these videos are probably the clearest I have ever seen on youtube and I'm certainly impressed by your camera, especially as it seems to be a compact.

Thank you to both of you for taking the trouble to take and upload the videos. I can hardly wait for Hammersmith on the 28th and I think Joe can't either.  big_smile

Phil
ps I also wear contacts, although I'm very short-sighted. I tore one while I was wearing them in the shower last weekend and only found 2/3 of the lens and assumed the remainder had gone done the drain. Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning (7 days later) to find the rest of the lens on my eyelashes. I can only think that it had been behind my eyeball all week!  yikes
