Topic: Omaha May 8th Joe's Birthday & Last Stop on the Great American Tour

Joe & Company delivered another stellar performance!  Joe's Birthday, it just doesn't get any better!   It is an incredible amount of musical genius and energy he displays, giving 1000% and then some.   The solo tonight in So Many Roads was absolutely magnificent & so emotionally charged.  And the opening solo to Django with Joe right in front of us on the speaker was to die for.........thanks again Joe  wink   We were all stunned that we had front row seats, we thought for sure there were at least 3 rows in front of us, so what a delight it was!!!  Setlist was the same.  After Sloe Gin, the houselights came up, and we were all trying to sing Happy Birthday to Joe...it was a planned event, but without everyone in the house knowing, it was hard to do, but we got a few bars in .....lol....  It was rockin' the house again!  A great evening of entertainment from The Man.   Great to hang with Lee & Renee, Mick, Matt & his lovely wife, Angie,Alysun,Jan and a real pleasure to meet Garth's family & friends!  Very sweet people.

And it was the cherry on top to receive the last hug of the Great American Tour.  Plus I got to drive Joe's big rig, well I pretended I was driving the big rig...thanks Dennis.

Thanks Joe for making life fun & adventuresome, safe travels to you

Update on Joe-Birthday card project:

I was going to give them to him last night after Omaha show, but once I heard his schedule I thought it would be better to give to him Friday night after the Iowa City show.  When I asked him last night if he enjoyed them, he said very much so and that he was about 1/3 the way thru them.  If you follow Joe on Facebook and/or Twitter he posted his Thanks and said he was overwhelmed.  So I would guess that he might have took some with him to look at while he travels or they will be kept safely for him and await his return. ( I don't really know.)  But what I do know is that YOU GUYS ROCK and I had two bags full of cards for him and Joe definitely had to feel the love outpoured to him. I'm sorry there aren't any pictures of him with them, it was EXTREMELY WINDY & COLD after the Iowa City show and there were a lot of fans on hand to see him afterwards.  Just know in your heart of hearts that I'm sure Joe thinks you are all the best!  I told Joe my mailman thinks he lives at my house    lol    lol     lol   I'll miss going to a full mailbox now....back to just the "window panes" and junkmail.........it was fun seeing where the mail all came from.

Another coinkydink that the boys were in your area on Joe's B-Day. I couldn't have planned it better myself. SO happy for your adventures Patty, and understand the post-Joe Blues, like everyone else here. Sounds like the baking worked out after all  big_smile  I'm guessing you bribed your way behind the wheel with sweets  wink  Clever Girl ! Thanks for lugging the love to Joe. Tell your mailman Joe does live in your house, kinda  cool  You're the BEST XX Cathy

Oh, thanks for the call. Speakerphone kills the battery quickly  sad

Patty and Lee and all--great to see everyone.

And for the record, Joe--I had no part any kind of boycott.  :-)

Thanks for the great show!

Enjoy the other side of the lake.  Tell Rick I said I hope he hooks a big one.

:-)

Re: Omaha May 8th Joe's Birthday & Last Stop on the Great American Tour

I really enjoyed having that smaller speaker to the right in front of me....Joe's vocals were crystal clear coming thru it.....the proof in that pudding is my sister said it was the first time she understood the words to the songs......Joe's vocals are exceptional......I loved the way the crowd at both shows I attended became very quiet when Joe sang "Bird On A Wire."  You could have heard a pin drop when he delivered those last lines....very,very,very well sung Joe Bonamassa.... so proud of you!
