Re: Joe's Live acoustic rig.
I think what we have is enough. I don't want their ears to bleed! We also have the rest of the power distributed throughout the ship and end up using almost all the 250 watts. The 50 and 100 volt systems you mention are European standards vs. 25 and 70 in the US. I still think I have a couple of old CHB100 tube amps in my morgue. Baffling is impractical around the winch. It is 8 feet high and sits on a 12x15 foot base. it holds 6000 feet of 1 1/8 inch wire rope. The marine world is fun. We do everything from "DC to daylight". Sonar, satcom, radionavigation, radar, encrypted com systems from vlf to Ka band. (and you gearheads thought you spoke a strange language) We specialize in scanning sonars. The big ones can detect a 5 ton school of fish at 6km. and tell the operator what kind of fish are there and the size distribution of fish in the school. Those bad boys put 232 db spl in the water at 10 meter range! Neat stuff.
