True Ian. Where ever one goes, there are areas that are best avoided. My own business is in an area I will not go to after dark. I hope for the best in the World Cup, but travellers there should not expect total safety as if they are going to a vacation spot in the Med.

good to see both Man U and Chelsea doing what they had to do today to win a championship rather than a last day of the season with others having an influence on the title outcome.

Congrats to Chelsea for their Championship, congrats to Man U for making it entertaining right up until the last. Roll on next season with Man City wanting to be part of the party from the start, - Liverpool you need to sort it out, - Arsenal keep doing what you are doing  Come on you Spurs!!!

heard a good one from a West Ham mate of mine last night.

He had a  call late at night from a friend of his saying that two West Ham fans were kicking a hedgehog around outside of his house....He was appalled and just about to call the RSPCA when the hedgehog went 1-nil up!!!

There is quite a debate going on now as top whether the Mail should have printed to the story. My view is that of course they shouldn't have.

They could have reported the matter to the FA and still had the scoop after the approriate action was taken at the right time with an acknowledgement from the FA as to their part in uncovering this rather sordid and unfortunate 'rumour'.

Sadly, The Mail, never one of the great papers has sunk to the gutter level of so many others. I fervently hope there is an extreme negative backlash against the paper for this.

They must have debated the why's and wherefore's of printing given that the bid had just been submitted and they conciously decided to undermine the bid with this action. A disgraceful decision. The 'public's right to know' is absolutely no defence IMO.

If I was the FA I would seek to refuse any accreditation to the England camp for this paper at the forthcoming championships and in the future. Disgusting.

Of course, this in no way excuses the idiocy of Treisman. Another millionaire Labour brown noser whose fly appears to open with the same frequency as his mouth. How do they qualify for these jobs? Blair and Brown's main contribution to the UK appears to be how many of their aquaintances they can knight or elevate to Lordship in order to qualify for junket jobs.

i think that they are far lower Brack, - and would say that your perception of the Mail on Sunday being milder is exactly what makes it the most dangerous publication. At least with the N of W and the others you know what you are getting, - something low brow and trashy, yet the DM  is pretentious and sadly influential, claims it be representative of middle class Britain. And because it claims it over and over people start to believe the hype.

It gets hold of a perceived issue such as immigration and then feeds on the fears of the middle classes by printing opinion and untruth with gets regurgitated around the Womens Institute meetings....

Bayern and Inter are two teams that I have disliked all my life, for different reasons (not important here). Normally speaking, I might not even watch, but there are unusual and compelling reasons why I will be watching and cheering for Bayern.

Inter should never have gone through against Barca, who had what would have been the winning goal wrongly disallowed in injury time. 

The respective managers are almost certainly the top two men in the business, and belong to that select group who have won the Champions League before. Mourinho, 'the Special One', was once assistant to Louis van Gaal at Barcelona! Both are brilliant tacticians, and arrogant men.

Van Gaal won the CL with my local (second) team, Ajax, and is still seen as a God by many here. He has performed a football miracle by getting to the final with Bayern (and taking the title and cup domestically).

Both teams have Dutch 'star' players - Robben for Bayern and Sneijder for Inter (fingers tightly crossed that neither get injured so close to the WC). Despite the fact that Sneijder was an Ajax player, my preference goes out to Bayern, though I fear that Inter may steal it.
