Re: JCM800

I have a combo from the 80's.

It doesn't have much gain as many people think, at least not with single coil guitars.

Re: JCM800

My brother in law has two from combos from the mid 80's that just sit. He uses a GNX4 proccessor through the PA when they play out, I guess it sounds ok for his cover band. I have tried to get him to use the Marshalls but he doesn't like carring gear and he won't sell me one, though he will let me barrow one anytime I want to.

Re: JCM800

How close does the JCM800 2210 (100 watt version) come to the Silver Jubilee?

Re: JCM800

I never did a head to head with a 100 watt Jub and JCM800 just the 50 watters.

From what I remember the Jub has a touch more gain, is voiced darker and the best way I can describe it, has a Thicker tone espically with single notes, the controls where also more responsive too. Thats not to say the JCM 800 didn't sound awsome because it sure did, it was just a bit different than the Jub. I should of recorded them.

Re: JCM800

I had JCM 800 2203 and always wanted to try the 2210 , to hear the 2210 listen to any Micheal Schenker (UFO) He gets a great sound through them

Re: JCM800

yesterday i decided to try a les paul p90's with the JCM 800 combo, no pedals.. it didn't sound so heavy and that's what i liked. if i've tried a guitar with humbuckers it would have been different, i think so...
