Topic: Snagg RFID chip (guitar theft protection)

I was wondering about this product. It's an RFID chip.... sort of like what dogs (and now some people) have implanted inside of them.

http://www.snagg.com/

In guitars, it can tell you the information of the guitar owner, etc. You get registered on the website, and law enforcement can use the site to access information. They claim a 35% chance you'll get your instrument back... whereas without it, it would be less than a 1% chance.

I'm sort of wondering how many guitar dealers have a RFID reader and how much of a push we should be promoting this technology to everyone we meet and every dealer we go to? If this really caught on, it could be effective.

thoughts?
