Some guys have all the luck. Nice job Pete. Got an intro to whiskey from the master this evening. The wine may take  a back step.

Re: Oli Brown - new album details

Had the new album for a few days and this is a great album - Some similarities to the first album but far greater depth, maturity and production (Mike Vernon influence?)

This arrived the same day as Black Rock and this hasn't been out of the CD yet

Re: Oli Brown - new album details

Did a little further web searches on him and he is excellent.  Checked with my local blues connection and right now his album is shown as an import which means $$$$. He said it may come off that status soon.  Thanks for the information on Oli.

Hi, just to let you know that Oli's album "Heads I Win Tails You Lose" will be released in the States in July AND they are talking of releasing "Open Road" in the States too, but later on.
Thanks. G

May I suggest Live2Fish that you might want to order a copy off of Oli's merchandise site here: http://olibrownband.com/merchandise.html

I ordered four copies and all of them were signed by Oli. My understanding is that Oli is signing all of the albums that are ordered by April 26th, so you might want to check it out. cool

And Graham, thanks so much for the speedy service. smile Now I've just got to figure out who gets the other 3 copies. Actually, two of them are already spoken for. wink

Thanks Roy, am pleased they have all arrived safely.
Yes, Oli has been personally signing ALL the CDs ordered from directly from the site..BUT..we have now had to stop as we have no more stock and will not have any more now until after the release date, sorry.

Re: Oli Brown - new album details

Wow sold out! smile I wonder how many CDs have already gone out?
Those of you wondering if Oli has released that difficult second album should have no fears. There is no real change in direction from Open Road, what the new album does feature is an even stronger set of songs, whilst both Oli's vocals and guitar playing has never sounded better! Sorry that the rest of you have to wait - it will be worth it though! smile

So glad I got my copy before they sold out.   Just on one listen I really enjoyed it and now I'm kicking myself because he was playing in Bournemouth a couple of months ago but I couldn't go  sad

Re: Oli Brown - new album details

Great news. I think some bloke called Roy from across the pond has bought a job lot and cornered the market. You'll find him in the Menomonee Falls market calling out "Get your copy of Oli Brown's new CD here. Heads I Win Tails You Lose."  lol   lol

Wow Graham, that actually is good news that you sold out the stock! Gee, I hope Oli doesn't have writer's cramp, got to protect those hands you know. wink

And Phil, even though I live in "Me No Money" Falls, I do know a bargain when I see it. However, purchasing a total of 4 albums hardly could be considered cornering the market. But now that I think of it, the value of the last signed CD that I have has just gone way up. wink lol

Re: Oli Brown - new album details

One of the pleasing factors about the reaction to Oli’s new album is that it is winning over people who were initially sceptical about Oli’s musical talents. Last night I listened to Tim Aves radio show, The Blues Is Back on Saint FM. Tim was not particularly impressed with Open Road, in particular he did not like the rhythm section on the album, indeed we had words about Oli elsewhere. Yet yesterday  he admitted on air that Heads I Win Tails You Lose is a good album and in his words is “a million times better”. He opened his show last night with Oli’s Keeping Your Options Open.  So it’s great to see that Oli is getting some more recognition in this way.  smile

Tim followed that up Oli with Henrik Freischlader’s Never Be True and later in the show played Joe’s version of Pack It Up.
