Re: Henrik Freischlader -New CD

I'll see him again in the Hot Jazz Club in Muenster on Thurday next week. I'm very glad that all the people from this forum who listened to him had the same opinion.
Glad I introduced him here, the place to be for good music!
Like Suzanne said:we promote him overhere and it seems to work out great. First shows in Holland are booked! He has a manager for Holland for the next 3/4 months now, so if anyone is interested:

There are so many standout moments in this album. I am completely hooked at the moment on the track 'Desert Love' which I began to think was a song the John Mayer would have killed to have written

...Sooz!... you should get permisssion to post this one up on Youtube too!!  wink

Graham, great to hear that Oli and Henrik got on so well. Perhaps you can play another few shows with him, in the UK!? smile

Re: Henrik Freischlader -New CD

I absolutely agree with all that has been said.....I LOVE this new cd by Henrik. There isn't a duff track on the whole cd. I think his voice is wonderful....reminds me a bit of Jeff Healey in the lower ranges and John Mayer at other times. Cry Again is absolutely gorgeous.....takes me to another place.
Now I need to check out his back catalogue....is it all this good?
I really hope he does come over to the UK very soon. I shall also be spreading the word.

Re: Henrik Freischlader -New CD

I have been slow to pick up on this thread but after all the positive reviews, and powers of persuasion from Duncan and Grooveyard Records, I sent off for 'Recorded By Martin Meinschafer'.

I'm loving it - lovely bluesy heavy guitar. Takes me back to the best of the 70's blues rock.

UK tour please.

For me his latest cd is the best one so far but I also like his CDs "Get closer" and "The Blues".
If you also like blues with some jazzy influences "The Henrik Freischlader Band Live" is also a good one. It's a double CD with a bonus of a third cd with bootleg versions.
Don't know the CD "5Live in the kitchen". I'll buy that next time I see him. That will be in May.

Sorry small correction, this link doesn't work. Here's the emailaddress: philbee@skynet.be.
PS. Phil is Henrik's booker for The Netherlands, not manager, Henrik is his own manager  smile

Re: Henrik Freischlader -New CD

Got my ticket to catch Henrik next Friday in Hamburg at the Downtown Blues Club. Very much looking forward to it. Turned a couple of friends on to him already and the CD was an instant hit with them. So much so that one of them immediately contacted me and wanted to cover 'Breakout' at the next local Blues evening!

Have to ask Henrik next week if he minds........they do say it is the best form of flattery lol

Suzanne, have you already been in touch with Pete Feenstra in London? He must be a good bet to put something together as he is organising so many concerts these days in the London/South London area.

On a more national basis what about 'The Agency Group'. Danny Bowes ex Singer from Thunder is a UK Booking agent for this company. I don't know how it works but he can be contacted at

Great, just make sure they use the correct plural of sheep! lol That's the only incorrect use of English I've heard on the album. Enjoy the show Mike! smile

No No Duncan, I'm going to sing it with 'Sheeps' which I find quite funny, but in a nice way. HF does just great with both the vocals and texts on this album. If we do it I shall keep 'sheeps' as a tribute to him smile

Should mention as well as the HF ticket, got my JB tix for July, plus Jay Tamkin and Danny Bryant in April. These 2 are on consecutive nights. Busy month in Hamburg this!

Thanks for the tips Hansamike. Yes I'm in touch with Pete. He is the Onassis of Blues around London...  smile
I will check out Danny Bowes....

Re: Henrik Freischlader -New CD

Great to see so many British fans interested in Henrik, please could I suggest that more of you post your comments as reviews on Amzon and other websites. It is likely that promoters may look to see what is written about him, and so far there is only one review of the album there:

Hi Hansamike,

Saw Henrik in the wonderful Hot Jazz Club in Muenster yesterday and it was a blast!
Complete sell out and a great great audience, had a great night!
Please let me know what you think of the Hamburg show, I bet you have the same opinion as me:

One of the best newcomers in Germany and in Europe!!!

Tomorrow night next show: Stoney Curtis in Rhede Germany!

How I love blues/bluesrock (and Joe too but not here at the time..)

Hey, I'm pleased to hear it. I wrote to the Varmints a few weeks ago and told them about the CD and urgend Matt to get a copy. Looks like he did!
