Topic: Joe`s Bogner XTC

Read that Reinhold Bogner was building a protoype XTC amp to Joe. Wondered really if Joe got that prototype XTC by now and how it sounds.
Heard only good things about the new 20th anniversary Bogner Shivas and XTCs.
Let me know if you know anything. Maybe the man himself can chime in?

Re: Joe`s Bogner XTC

I'm not sure if Joe's prototype is complete or not.  He only seems to use the Bogner to substitute his Category 5 JB100 amp.  Joe mentioned that the early Bogners had a deep switch that only he and Eric Johnson really dug so it was discontinued on later models.  I've personally never seen him actually using the Bogner...every time I've seen him live it was always the Category 5 head.  Maybe Joe likes the master volume on the Ecstasy?  I guess until either Joe or Reinhold announces the new amp we'll all have to wait and see.

When I saw Joe in Evansville last August, he used the Bogner.  Joe and the amp sounded great.  Go to you tube, punch in Joe Bonamassa, Rig Rundown, and Amp.  You will get a clip where Joe demonstrates his rig and he is using the Bogner.  It sounds outstanding.
