Topic: NEW BAND:Beth and The Black Cat Bones

Hey everyone

Thought I'd let you guys know about my band Beth and The Black Cat Bones, in which I play lead guitar. We are gigging all over London at the moment and also starting to travel a bit further out. We are a blues and soul band and we've just released an EP of 5 original tracks which you can hear at our myspace http://www.myspace.com/bethandtheblackcatbones . Also got a live video on there of Aint Nobodies Business.

We are a fairly new band, just trying to build our fanbase, so would love it if any Bonamassa fans in London who like what they hear would might come and check us out sometime and please do introduce yourself! smile

Thanks
Jess

Re: NEW BAND:Beth and The Black Cat Bones

Hi Jess,

I think one of my favorite combos is soul, blues & funk.  Best of luck with your band, I think you sound GREAT!!!

If you get 'just a little bit' of attention, the good vibe will spread about your band.   smile  If I didn't live on the other side of the pond, I'd definitely check you out.  Again, Good Luck and happy playing!

Re: NEW BAND:Beth and The Black Cat Bones

I've just listened to your Myspace, Jess. Not only you play really good...you've also got a beatiful tone. Do you use an orange as shown in that picture?

Re: NEW BAND:Beth and The Black Cat Bones

Thanks alot for the comments smile

That orange in the picture was the other guitarist in the bands amp. I usually use just a Fender Blues Jr, cos its cheap and easy to take on public transport! All the recordings on my bands page were done with the Blues Jr.

Re: NEW BAND:Beth and The Black Cat Bones

and do you usually use an overdrive/distortion pedal?

Re: NEW BAND:Beth and The Black Cat Bones

Just a Keeley Modded Tubescreamer.

Some of the tracks on my own myspace were just done with my Tubescreamer going through the computer, no amp.

Re: NEW BAND:Beth and The Black Cat Bones

Jess,

I listened to "Hotpot" and then went through a bunch of your band's vids that were on the same page.  I think your band has some real promise and if your music ever becomes available here (U.S.) I'll get it in a New York Minute.
Beth's vocals sound great and I love the way you play your guitar.  Your playing has real emotion and substance.  Good luck to you and the band cause you're going places.

Re: NEW BAND:Beth and The Black Cat Bones

Just a warning - they weren't very big but there was a British blues rock band called Black Cat Bones in the late 60's/early 70s that got caught up in the media witch-hunt over Black Widow and Black Sabbath. This original Black Cat Bones had 2 future members of Free and one of Fleetwood Mac.

Sounds ominous sethur! Are you just giving practical advice? No one's gonna die are they?  tongue Just kidding, they certainly need to consider this.
No matter, nice bit of trivia.  Thanks!

Well the name was decided before I joined, I knew about the Black Cat Bones band, unlike the others in my band haha I mentioned it to them but they didn't seem to think it mattered. However, It might be something we need to rectify for our next release. Thanks for the heads up anyway.
