Jeff,

Tina was from Nutbush, Tennessee.  A little nothing of a town near Jackson.  I used to travel in my job and remember seeing the sign for the town proudly state it was the hometown of Tina Turner.

Of course, I looked right at it and wrote Texas...  You're right, Thank You!

The best Motown stuff was that which was recorded without the control of Berry Gordy and given their own artists license. While Marvin Gaye made some good stuff, like Heard It Through The Grapewine, it was only when he was free of restraints that he made his best albums in such as What's Going On (1971) and Let's Get it On (1973), likewise with Stevie Wonder's Music of My Mind (1972), Talking Book (1972), and Innervisions (1973).
