Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

I was just amused about how we go on and on about what we would like to hear Joe do (myself included) and I just thought, it's so simple,  I love Joe doing Joe....pattyluvsjoe wink

I've given this alot of thought and because it would be the biggest challenge, but one only Joe could do...."Sofa" by Frank Zappa, the one from" Live NY"

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

I think we'd all melt if Joe ever covered "FEVER".  Classic songs like "Fever" and Mustang Sally" done well, could never be covered enough, IMO!!  If you don't remember the song, go over to itunes. Yesterday I was listening to Stevie Ray's "Cold Shot", there is something about that song that always reminds me of Fever.  Someone versed in music may know what it is, chords etc.

Patty- YEAH, YEAH, YEAH to a Beatle cover.  "Norwegian Wood"- Sweet!!!  To this day, Rubber Soul is one of my all time favorites and first album I ever bought!!!

P.S.  He would be awesome doing Mustang Sally, too!!  Face it, Joe could sing Old MacDonald and it would be totally awesome...moo...moo...quack,quack,oink,oink...... wink

You Can Do Anything You Want To Do

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

I'm not going to be popular but nobody except Taj Mahal should do Mustang Sally!!!!! Just heard him do it on the Blues Cruise. No put down to the song itself, but my musician friends have all banned it from their set lists. Put Freebird on that list also. It's almost impossible to get through the night w/o someone yelling for one of those songs even though they are hearing original, great songs. Again, forgive me, but it had to be said.

Listening to Black Satin Dancer as I drove to work this morning and it struck me as being perfect for Joe to cover.
There is so much scope for adaptation of the instrumental sections for Joe to interpret in this song.
This would be a major task but not beyond Joe's talents.

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

What a great song! Iknow it's been a long time since I've posted here, and the last year of retirement has been a big change... and a big reason.... (along with personal marrige problems). I'm setting back on my Bday.... reflecting the last year, and through many bad things (along with many good things).... I would not change a thing. I still read the post, just don't answer most.

Cheers from Lake Livingston,

Gator, I dig the Robert Cray idea, there's another monster tune on Bad Influence called The Grinder which Joe could really shred out on. Gotta run and TCB, I'm gonna grab that disc for the ride. Move over Lance Lopez, young Bob is comin' on board.

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

I was just listening to Free this morning and I have finally decided that I would love to hear Joe cover "The Hunter".  The bend vibratos in the intro are killer.
